Good evening. After finishing up my notification and commenets. Cruising around the internet to see any news of the storm plus other. This caught my eye on a young boy die from biting a hot dog. Here is the news below A bite of a hot dog stopped a 9-year-old boy's heart, but not because he choked, according to a case study published today in Pediatrics. The boy, from Turkey, was eating a hot dog at school when he fainted. He was resuscitated, but then Istanbul doctors heard an usual heartbeat. Further tests showed he had a rare heart condition known as Brugada syndrome, which can cause sudden death. A piece of hot dog caused the boy's vagus nerve, which assists heart and gastrointestinal function, to change his heart beat.

Was it the actual hot dog ingredients that caused it? That is scary to say the least, but in a sense it is good that they found out so they are now aware of his condition!

@amadeo I don't know much about the condition - I wonder how careful he will have to be about food from now on - no more hot dogs I guess!

I think the bite of the hot dog triggered the vagus nerve to change his heartbeat, causing it to be irregular. I don't know this for sure but it looks like what he said in the story.

@amadeo Young, only make him stronger in long run. Why I say I hate clean freaks and there is more ways to one than just the saying. Germs, bad stuff helps our body learn to adapt. Great he was young now his body will take the necessary actions or at least try to. That is really all you can ask for.

How sad, probably his parents knew nothing about his condition but they couldn't have done anything if they had.

It's always so sad when children actually die because they have a condition which has never revealed itself before. So good that he was resuscitated.
