CBS News https://www.cbsnews.com/news/kim-jong-un-nuclear-weapons-experts-weigh-in-north-korea/ supposes that he wants to 'strengthen his regime against overthrow by South Korea- & U.S.-invasion.' Why then is Jong Un (or is it just Kim? or Un? Jong-y?)- and/or his science-team-always making sure that we know his nuclear-bombs are attached to missiles that can 'reach all the way to America?'

@mythociate He has a VERY long "to-do" list for sure, especially given that he's told over 2000 lies since taking office and it hasn't even been a full year yet. He knows nothing about leadership, guidance or what "doing the right thing" looks like.

@anniepa makes me think 'the Senate' voted him in so that he would quit doing the damage he was free to do as an icon of American media.

Makes me want to 'Go Buddhist with the whole thing.' (i.e. adopt an 'I don't care what anybody does; they're not getting any reaction from me or -my people'-position) The President- or other international leaders-may be 'roped into' [b]The Lie[/i] that it's their job to "protect their countries' citizens." I don't know about other countries, but in America ... well, The President is the commander-in-chief of The Military---an organization whose purpose is (in the public's popular understanding of it) 'to protect U.S. citizens from foreign attacks.' And the news heavily emphasizes 'that NK's missiles might be able to reach America,' which we can only hope our military is working to prevent. Which is one reason why it's "a shame" that Donald Trump is 'The President' (I was gonna say "our President," but there are too many (sometimes myself-included) who insist that he is "Not My President!"): The President's job is not so-much "to do the right thing" as it is "to preside (watch, approve, guide) over the people who are doing the right thing." The only thing we need him to do is "tell us believably that things are under control," and Don-Jon's got a pretty-long 'to do'-list to check-off before we can rate him as "believable!"

If the US nukes NK, NK will nuke back. That's the defense mechanism. I heard North Korea needs to threaten other countries, they hope for aid but they receive sanctions. It's a poor country, nobody wants to deal with them (except China, and maybe Russia), what can they do except crying for attention?

I was just watching a video reviewing Dr. Strangelove, where we are reminded of the Mutually-Assured Destruction strategy ... in which no one will 'release their nukes' because they know that--if they do--everyone else's nukes are set to automatically retaliate.

@mythociate THAT'S what Donald Trump is too freaking stupid to understand. He doesn't get the whole Mutually-Assured Destruction strategy, he's actually said on more than one occasion in interviews that he doesn't know why we have nukes if we can't use them. HE REFUSED TO RULE OUT NUKING EUROPE! I can't believe people seem to have forgotten that but when I heard that during the campaign it made me physically sick. There was a mistake made yesterday in Hawaii, an alert went out that wasn't real, and while it's not the same thing as a missile getting accidentally launched it goes to show how "accidents" could happen and when we're dealing with a nutcase like Kim and an even bigger nutcase like Donald that means we're not safe and won't be anything close to safe until he's gone.

@anniepa I wonder if we could share this link with President Trump's twitter - @POTUS or @realDonaldTrump or ... I'm not sure if he ever reads 'tweets by us non-bajillionaire citizens'
