Blasted jar of peanut butter

I don't like it when a jar gets down real low. I want to get them used up so I can throw them away. Just a me thing. I keep eating peanut butter in many ways to get this jar emptied. It is never ending though. I eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, peanut butter on crackers, peanut butter on celery. No matter how much I eat there is still peanut butter in that jar. Ever had this problem?

We do not buy peanut butter, when a jar of jam gets down, I usually make a pie, so I use all the jam in the jar.

That is a good way to use up the jam and you have a pie.

@velvet53 It's the best way to empty the jar, sometimes I place apple slices atop of the jam, if it's apricot jam, it's very good.

there are people here at home who buy or cook stuff, then don't finish it because it wasn't what they expected or they're tired of it already. they like to experiment or try new stuff, but it's not their problem how to use it all up or dispose it. sigh...

Why you want to end up so quickly Usually I won't be so eager to end up something. I can't remember any such things at present.

@toniganzon I don't use a lot of honey. I usually end up giving it to the kids so it doesn't go to waste. It is a pain when it gets down to the end of the bottle.

I wouldn't mind having a problem like that - the longer it lasts keeps me from spending money to replace it.

I love PB & jelly sandwiches. Actually, I just love peanut butter. My problem is running out of it and forgetting to buy more. To get the last of the peanut butter out of the jar I use a frosting spreader. It's long, has a wide blade and is rounded on the end - perfect for getting into the rounded bottom of the jar. I guess my problem is the opposite of yours.

Yes are problems are opposites. I never thought of using a frosting spreader. You just made things easier for me.

@deazil I think that I have one and if not I will be getting one. Oh what joy for me. I won't have to fight with the bottom of a jar again.

@velvet53 I'm glad I helped. LOL I used to get so aggravated trying to get the PB out of the bottom of the jar. The knife would only get a little at a time, but my frosting spreader is one with a long flat blade about an inch and a quarter wide. It gets a whole lot of PB at one time out of the bottom.

When my jar gets down to the bottom I use my spatula to scrap out the remains. My jar goes into the garbage completely clean

My spatulas are too big for the jar but that is a good idea for the bigger jars. I have a bottle of hot sauce that I dropped the other day and broke the cap. I put saram wrap around it but I am on a mission to get it empty before I knock it over or something and end up with hot sauce everywhere.

No, sorry, I don't eat peanut butter. My boyfriend can eat a jar so quickly so there isn't much of a problem in this house.
