Getting Together with Paints-On-Slate

I am sure some of you have already read about our meeting in Niagara on the Lake. What a charming place for a get-together!! We tried to time things perfectly so that we could take the Journey Behind the Falls and then arrive in time for a lunch meeting. In spite of the fact that my glasses broke, we were able to get it all coordinated.
I love the shop where she sells her slates. Of course, I couldn't resist one as well as getting a pair of "Peepers" so I could see again and some scented drawer liner paper.
We had a delicious lunch with lots of talk and laughter and then we got the soaking of our lives, much wetter even than at Niagara Falls lol. I am still eating those delicious things that I bought at the bakery. It is funny how well we get along and how it seems like we have known each other for ever.
I think I can honestly say, a good time was had by all and we are looking forward to the next time, perhaps in Florida.

@BelleStarr I have long loved Marilyn's slate paintings, I would love one but to ship would cost a fortune. I can't wait to see what you got.

It's wonderful. I feel that I know some of the users with whom I interact from a long time, it's almost like we already met, if we never did. myLot is a wonderful place to become friends and it's even better if we can meet in person one day.

It is a great life but I imagine you know that my husband has Parkinson's so it is not a life without its challenges. This was great because we were never more than 400 miles from home and could get back quickly if any emergency came up. Hopefully, soon you will be able to get back to your travels.

@BelleStarr Yes, I spent a full day with them in Bordeaux. It was a sunny day and we lunched outdoors near the river in a restaurant where the cashier had traveled in all Australia like they were traveling in France

I am thinking of you today and your house in Ocala. I talked to my husbands sister there and they are sticking to home and their businesses - Old Folks homes...so they can't run away. I hope all is well today as the hurricane passes by...
I loved our visit and you are right it really seems like we have known each other for ever. I enjoyed my cookies as I headed home and loved the comfortable lunch where conversations never stopped. I was soaked too by the time I got to my car, a friend said it was like Niagara Falls falling on Niagara On The Lake and I must agree with them. Looking forward to our next meet - probably in Florida...
