Impacted Teeth Extraction

Philippines
September 9, 2017 10:44pm CST
I went to the hospital last Friday for a dental checkup. I asked the dentist to check my wisdom teeth. Yes, teeth, I have both in left and right. Sad to say both are impacted. It hurts from time to time so I have no choice but to have it extracted to avoid further painful experience. I am scheduled for a minor surgery on September 27. I hope everything will be fine and no complications will arise. Good luck to me and I hope to recover fast.

i haven't experienced having impacted teeth, but what seems to be common in my family is having long "roots" so it's hard for the dentist to take out.

Well I had already have panoramic x-ray to see my entire teeth. Well there is no problem according to the dentist. So I only need to come on the scheduled surgery.

@hereandthere Yes, 2 days i guess. I will have the extraction on Wednesday then take 2 days off (Thursday and Friday). Will report back to work on Monday. I think that is enough rest for me.

Wisdom teeth are really no longer needed @JasperTore and in most cases because human skull size is reducing, they cause more harm than good, so having them pulled is the right thing to do. I had all 4 of mine pulled at the same time. The 2 upper ones were laying sideways with the roots wrapping around the jaw bone.

Only my 2 lower are impacted. The 2 upper are perfectly fine. After extraction I may perhaps have braces to fix my teeth arrangement.

i remember my mother saying something like that happened with my father, and the dentist had to ask his colleagues to help.

I had only 3 wisdom teeth . . . and they said my mouth was too small to carry any more teeth, so they took all of them out (I think I was in my early 20s). I had a pretty good experience with it . . . I even tried to eat a hamburger the next day . I hope all goes smoothly and you have a quick recovery!

@JasperTore I've had teeth extracted in my childhood . . . not that anyone gets used to that, but I have had much previous experience, so I sort of knew what to expect. I think you'll be ok .

@much2say I see. I have my teeth extracted several times already but no wisdom teeth. So there is a bit of nervousness on me. But I hope to make past this surgery to make myself feel better.

Thank you my friend for sharing your experience. I hope the same happen to me. So that I don't have to apply for a leave and be back at work right away.

I'm sure all will go well for you. I had 4 wisdom teeth extracted to allow more room in my small mouth for the other teeth. It didn't hurt and recovery went quickly. Good luck to you!

Thank you my friend. I hope the same happens to me. I am confident that I will recover fast after the extraction. There is a crowding in my mouth because I got a lot of teeth.

@DianneN After the extraction I plan to have braces too. This is to fix the alignment of my teeth.

@JasperTore You sound like me! Perhaps this will help with the crowding.

I am so sorry my friend. Be prepared because it is the worst pain ever! Make sure to eat well and be full before surgery. Because you will have to take soup for almost 2 weeks after surgery. :( I am already scared for you

Yes. It was last September 27. I got 2 wisdom teeth extracted from me. I waited for more than 3 hours before I got the operation. I went to the hospital early so that I can avoid the traffic. Also, I live far from the hospital where the operation will be done. The operation was quick. It didn't last for more than 30 minutes. I am good now and not feeling any pain at all.

@JasperTore it is believed that pulling out the wisdom tooth will cause more pain and bleeding. i felt that when mine was extracted
