Where is the old bible?

I have always believed that the bible had only 66 books until in August when my brother told me that the bible has many books but most were removed. He even mentioned the book of Enoch and I remembered that I last saw it like more than 10 years ago. My brother said that his Christian Religious teacher taught them that many books which have many secrets have been removed from the bible. I want to know if the old bible exits because I am curious to read it.

There is a book called "God's Secretaries: The Making of the King James Bible" by Adam Nicolson. It tells you why the books in the "current" Bible were chosen to be in the Bible while others were not. It's not the excluded books, but it explains why these were left out.

There were many books written. The Bible is a collection of little books or writings that were inspired by God. The 66 books harmonize well and do not contradict one another. The other books are not in harmony with the other 66 and are not part of the Bible. As an example, you can look at the recent MyLot discussion on the the book of Judas.

Thank you very much. I will check the post :) I read somewhere in the bible that it is a sin to add or remove books from the bible. So I am wondering why those not harmonizing with the 66 were removed.

It was my mistake to call it an old bible. I was trying to say the one that has all original books before undergoing edition for many years. :)

@cacay1 I know there are other books that were considered, and not chosen to be part of the 66 and in some cases the additional Apocrypha that is part of the Catholic Bible.

I don't know but I think I have no authority to answer this questions, I think the scholars can enlighten you about these things. Because only I can explain it to you, I might not be here but I'm in the church preaching and having sermon. But its really nice for you to have this curiosity.

You can type in a search engine "the missing books of the Bible" and see what comes up. You might be able to read them online,
