How Weird

So they never came. Here we have been waiting for them and they never showed.
My daughter was manic for over two months and the apartment got very dirty. Clothes piled everywhere and stuff laying on the couch and soda bottles and trash on the coffee table. A real mess. And I hadn't even looked in the kitchen. Some how housing learned of the mess I don't know. The rep came and talked to Cami. She explained about being manic and so they were coming out to do an housekeeping inspection on the 4th. This all happened while I was in the hospital.
I get out and learn of this and I freaked out. We have two attempts and then we lose our housing voucher. There had been a little bit of an improvement as to what it was like when I went in but not much. I was really fearful that she couldn't get it all done by the 4th. (I got out on the 28th of August) I called the housing gal and got the date extended to today (Monday September 11th) between 2-3p.
My granddaughter was here last week and helped my daughter a lot. Cleaning and such. The place was really whipped into shape. I was so releived.
It is now nearly 5p. and we have not seen or heard from housing.

Oh no..they never showed? Housing? Shoot Celtic..you will have to call them again I guess.
I can imagine now your stress level after doing so much there to clean up. I am sure it will be sorted out though..that would put me over the edge temporarily tho..all that is worrying.

Never showed. I'm not calling them. My daughter and granddaughter did so much work around here. Even Josh helped yesterday to tidy up.

@TiarasOceanView ......I hope we can forget it and move on. They didn't come so life goes on from there. I'm rather afraid of what I may learn if I do call them.

@celticeagle You wont call them? Well I guess you will have to just wait to see if they show, but it is not likely and you need that inspection done so you can be approved...they are terrible to do this to you. Really really bad..
Well they cant do anything to you as it is not your fault.

Hopefully they won't just stop in unannounced. Legally they are not allowed to do that.

@celticeagle Maybe so but you might want to call them. They should of called you to tell you they weren't going to make it.

@poehere .....No the rep had just gotten back from the holiday and was swamped. She spaced it. Came to day. Just said we need to wash the walls upstairs.

@celticeagle This would be very helpful. Unless the person who reported you told them that the place is clean now and they decided not to come. Might want to call and see if they are still coming so the place stays nice and clean.

A "housekeeping inspection" would not be legal in my country. There is an inventory of fixtures done when a tenant enters in a place and another when the tenant leaves, between it is privacy, and a landlord has not to check the housekeeping. It has certainly been stressing for you ! What will happen next ? If the house was ready to be inspected, it is a pity that they did not came.

Perhaps you don't have HUD financing in apartments there. A normal lease would do what you have written here. This is a lot different.
