Back in 1980's , I was given a nickname in school by my classmates. I was short-sighted, so my dad took me to a optician to get a pair of glasses for my eyesight. You know back in those days, the spectacle frames are thick, squarish and orbit. When I mentioned "Orbit" it doesn't mean that the spectacles was round in shape but NERDY, yes that is the word. So, my friends claimed that I looked alike a "gold fish", so that is how I had a nickname in school. What is your nickname in school? Do you hate it? I hated my nickname!

I didn't have a nickname. My real name was shortened, though. Only members of the family use my real name.

You aren't alone in this, I was given a nickname in 6th grade, that stuck for a lot of years. 'Skeeter' One little red-haired boy by the name of Ronnie, use to tease me every single day. When I got tired of this, I'd try to punch him in the arm. Of course, he loved it! Then he'd say to his friends, 'Hey, are the mosquitoes biting you, too?' He'd proceed to laugh and itch his arm, where I'd just hit him! He gave me the nickname, 'Skeeter', short for mosquito.

I didn't had a nickname in school but my friends keep teasing me with my name because they add another letter to it to make it sound funny and I hated that. But anyway, those were years ago and we were still kids then.... :-)

I had a teacher that made a nickname for me that was not flattering. However, a fellow student used it once. I beat him up and nobody else used it except the teacher. I should have beaten him up too.
