Do you have this type of relationship?

Do you have or have you had a relationship with an Ex in it's different forms. What I mean is after you have broken up with a person rather it was from a dating relationship or a divorce from a marriage, have you remained friends with your ex's family members? That happened to my husband. When he was a teenager, he dated a girl. The girl's Mom thought my husband was a great guy and he and the Mom became friends. When he broke up with the girl friend, he stayed friends with the Mom. The Mom sent Christmas cards to him even after my husband and I got married. She did die around 10 years ago, but up until her death, she would send Christmas cards to us. Of course we sent them back. Also, one time when our kids were young, we visited my husband's family in Pennsylvania and one of our visits was to the ex girlfriend's Mom. She was not doing well. She lived in one of those assisted living homes. My husband always said she was a 2nd Mom to him. Even though he and the girlfriend were not meant to be together, there was just something about her Mom that was like a 2nd Mom. (also, we both think, the Mom was always kind of sad that my husband and her daughter didn't stay together). But, seriously, my husband said, they were not meant to be together, if he had gotten married to her, they would have gotten divorced.

It didn't really bother me, we lived in different States and didn't see her much, just Christmas cards.

That's a rare but nice relationship to have... One of my ex-es became my boss many years later... We didn't really stay in touch after we broke up, went our separate ways even crossed some oceans but somehow it's a 'small world' kinda thing that we ended up living in a same city once again...

I am glad it was not a problem for you. I would have not appreciated to hear my husband talking with the mother with his ex-girlfriend and the mother reminding him that they were fiancee. I am sure some people do not mind, I would have been upset.

Can't say that I have had any such experience. Sounds interesting that case however.

Oh god no. To me that's weird, and not right - no matter why the relationship ended.
