I Received 7 Post Cards Today

United States

I have been busy all week so I stopped by the Post Office today and there were SEVEN post cards waiting in my Post Office box. 2 from US addresses, 2 from Russia, 1 from Japan, 1 from the Netherlands and 1 from Taiwan. I just got them all registered. It’s so exciting to receive the post cards from so many different countries. I have already filled up two note books with post cards. And the stamps are so interesting. I’ve gotten some really nice stamps. I have two post cards to mail tomorrow. One to Germany and one to Taiwan. This has become a very interesting hobby for me. I know that some people have been collecting post cards for years and I wish that I had purchased post cards from all the places that I have traveled to, but alas! I didn’t. I do have some but I could have had so many more, if I’d have thought about how much fun collecting Post Cards would be.

Do you belong to Postcrossing.com I joined about 10 months ago, I think. And I've already received and SENT about 100 post cards Some here on mylot are also exchanging post cards. If you want me to send you a post card, send me a Private Message with your address. But, remember, if I send you one, you must also send me one.

I was doing the post card thing also for a few months. It was very awesome getting the many different postcards and reading what people had to say. There for awhile i couldn't afford it so i put it on hold. I want to get it going again soon though. I loved it.

The stamps cost $1.15 for Global mail and then the cost of the post cards too. I'm looking forward to a post card sale in November at the local Community College. I'm going to stock up. They are supposed to have all sorts of post cards for 10 cents each. Some will cost more than that, but I'm anxious to see what they have. I plan to get quite a few. Right now, I'm paying $1.75 for two cards at a Pharmacy. It's the only place I can find that has post cards at all. The BIG Pharmacies like Walgreens, Rite Aid etc. don't sell post cards anymore. Not around here any way.

@TJGray In November there is going to be a Post Card sale at the local Community college. It's something they do every year but I just recently heard about it. I plan to go to that and stock up. Supposedly, most of the post cards will be 10 cents. I go to a lot of Thrift stores but I have never seen any post cards. I will ask the next time I go. Maybe I'm just not seeing them. Also, I don't live far from the Interstate and I have thought about driving to the next Visitor's Center and seeing if they sell post cards, but its about 60 miles round trip to the nearest one. I will be going to NC in December so maybe I can stop on the way.

@IreneVincent i was getting my post cards at gas stations. Mainly the ones off the interstate. They usually run 4 or 5 for a buck. I just learned recently that our local thrift store has then for 10 cents. I looked through theirs but only liked a few. Plus i get them at gift shops when i go on my adventures to museums or the such. The postage was what killed me. I was mailing 6+ at a time. But right now money is tight. I'm just collecting postcards along the way when I find them cheap until things get better for us. And I can't wait

I hadn't checked my mail for a few days. I have a P. O. Box, so I guess they were piling up over the week-end. I love it though, when I have lots of post cards in my box.

No, none are from mylotters. I belong to Postcrossing.com and I'm really enjoying this site. I would LOVE to receive post cards from mylotters though. And I would be happy to send some out too, if I had addresses. I know there are some who are doing this but I don't know how to get involved.
