A commemoration to Fido

While waiting at Fishguard in Wales for our ferry back to Ireland we walked along the little harbour and came across this sign which I thought you might enjoy. It is a lovely little harbour with a number of park benches along the wharf where you can sit and rest while watching the small boats and the flotilla of sea birds that frequent such places.
Each bench was dedicated to past residents who had enjoyed their latter years there. Plaques on the backs of the benches gave details of each person. Someone obviously thought their dog needed to be commemorated too.

I am asking myself if it is not a sarcastic joke to mock the plaques on the benches

Oh Wales! What a lovely trip for you guys! I love the feel of that end of the world- Ireland, Scotland and England- never been to WALES though and never met FIDO---Poor laddy- may he rest in PEE-ce LOL!

I think Solva where I went in August is pretty near Fishguard. I know you must have been in Pembroke. That whole area is delightful. Yes people do some interesting things when their pet departs. I guess it is because it becomes one of the family. Freya, however need not get her hopes up.

@JudyEv it's likely you did did if you weren't anywhere near St David's as you would have driven through the village on the way . You would have have have had to make a special stop to see the harbour and the sea though because you can't see it from the road.

Awww, I would like that one. I think a little placque to commemorate a loved one animal or canine is special.
