Good morning. I hope you had a beautiful Sunday and even as the weeks goes by hoping to have greater achievements. I have heard and experienced people say that hardships draw us closer to God. From your experience and all the hard times you have had in life, did you get closer to God? Just imagine wouldn't it be cruel for God to use something terrible to make us love him? I sincerely hope not. With earthquakes, Hurricanes, Floods and droughts. Do these draw us close to him.

We should when things are going well and if not so well find something we can be grateful for but yep we forget and in time of serious trouble drop to our knees.

Yes, I try to stay close to God through thick and thin, the good and the bad times. He is my joy and he is my shoulder to cry upon. What about you?

Yes I agree with you. We should be close to him everyday and remember to thank him always whatever situation we are in.

Of course, this is not the Will of God. But in season of hardship, we can count on God. He is faithful to us. Jesus said, there are sufferings but be courageous!

Actually it is not Gods will. He loves us and wants the best for us. What a loving father he is.

Yes, difficulty can bring us closer to God if we let it. Scripture tells us that. Even Jesus had to go through suffering to achieve His goal of saving us.

I do not know why those bad things happen. I think a part of it is that we are given the gift of free will. We do not have to be close to God, it is a choice. I have heard both ways, sad things bring people close or drive people away. I hope everyone has a close relationship with God

The problems we experience are not caused by God. He will allow them still for a short time, and it is all explained in the Bible. "We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." God's Kingdom will soon end all the problems and bring a new world government - see Daniel 2:44. Isaiah 11, Psalm 37 Before it happens, we need to keep close to God and ask him for strength and wisdom, so that we can cope with this time of the end of this old world.

And this is the only way we can remember him and keep close to him.

God allows tragedies to happen to our lives to teach us lessons in life and most of all, for us to see that we need God more than anyone in circumstances beyond our control and so we need to believe and trust Him and have to depend and be close to Him for He is only our safe refuge and strength.

If not for those tragedies people would actually forget God. They would be so comfortable to remember him.

I think those things aren;'t God's making. It's the devil's making and God allows it because it is when we are at our weakest, that He is strong. We rely on His help at this point of time.

Yes we rely on God when we are at our weakest. I also believe its not Gods will for us to suffer he wants the best for us.

@nangayo Those bad things are the devil's doing. God just allows it.

Hardship does draw us close to God. He's not the one who would play a cruel thing like that on us, but he certainly knows how to help when trouble comes our way.
