Have you ever picked up a book to read and got excited because it was 700 pages long? Today I received the novel Sleeping Beauties in the mail. Today was its release day, and my husband had pre-ordered it for me so I actually got it today insead of having to wait. I was so excited. Even more so when I saw how HUGE it was. Co-written by Stephen King and his son Owen (writing is a huge tallent in this family, clearly, as Joe Hill is also one of King's sons) this novel is about.... Well, according to the cover all the women all over the world fall victim to a sleeping sickness in which they are violent if awakened from. This seems to be caused by a strange woman named Evie, who is the only one to NOT suffer from it. So half the men of the world want to protect her and the other half want to kill her. I've just started reading it. The women of the world have not all fallen alseep yet. But it is promising to be a great read. Now, it being 700 pages makes it very heavy to carry around and difficult to read laying down, but I'm gonna power through. What is the biggest/longest book you've ever read? (NOT counting the Bible, cause that's probably what everyone will say) Do you enjoy long reads, or short quick ones?

I'm not sure what the longest book I've ever read is but I'll bet it was by Stephen King. Under The Dome, maybe? The Stand?

I think the unabridged The Stand was longer. Both were epic though.

@xander6464 The Stand is one of my favorites. And IT and Insomnia are a couple more of my favorite epic ones. I've only read Under the Dome once though....

The longest book I have read surely was a Stephen King book, most of his books are long, I have under my eyes Duma Key that is 607 pages, Insomnia is almost 800.

I can only really read big books when I am on holiday as I can't be carrying something too big around with me to work every day
