Do you like horses, riding, showing...? Do you ride Western or English?

When I was a little girl I used to read about horses. That is how I taught myself to ride. I never took lessons, I only went to the stables and paid to ride for pleasure. So now I am living vicariously through my kids because they are working on a farm with horses. I always preferred English to Western. I only ever rode, I never learned to show but I love watching dressage competitions on TV. I am really proud of the way my boys are learning abou horses. They both brought home ribbons from the last competition they were in with Arabians and miniature horses.

I used to enjoy riding when I was younger. I prefer English to Western as well. I would go to the stables and help clean and feed horses to pay for being able to ride the horses. I kind of wanted to learn jumps and stuff, but never got into it enough as it wasn't something I could really afford to get into.

I understand. I think jumping is beautiful. I love to watch the equestrian sports events and dressage on TV.
