Anyways, rules are as follows, write a poem in any style using the five words that I give you. Write it in one sitting or in under an hour (only to quash your inner editor, rules are loose there). Add it here, OR link in a comment so we can enjoy each other's poems. The words can be in any plurality or tense. Today’s words are: dark, black, sound, silence, teeth
I get asked why I don't always like playing music,
but for me there are sounds in the dark.
Sometimes I want to hear the world being
sometimes I need to watch for the teeth in night.
Rarely is there silence that is silent,
the world almost always makes some sound,
black may be the vision around you,
but rarely does the world go mute.
Even when it does our minds rarely can handle it
they add things to the silence,
perhaps whisperings of our own subconscious,
or maybe we are hearing the teeth of the monsters.

Saturday's Back Ache
Imprisoned, my vertebrae listen to the sounds
horse leaping, memoried bike falls,
teeth gripping, silence embedded
I walk the dark avenue
willing the black expanse to lift aside
muscles upright enough to appear human
alive enough, strong enough, air gulped
the day straight ahead, mine.

Love your poem.
In the dark of night,
beyond the window a curtain of black,
upon the window pane I heard a scratching sound,
For a moment there was silence
and then I saw Dracula's fangs.

I haven't written a poem in ages; so here goes: (I think this is more of a story than a poem haha sorry)
I see something in the dark.
Its big yellow eyes stare at me.
Its black coarse hair swaying violently.
Its pointed teeth visible in a wide grin.
I open my mouth to make a sound, but only silence follows.
It jumps towards me, and lo and behold.. it's just my dog Blackie
sorry for being lazy

The dark sky is fog thick
As black as a licorice stick
The raccoon runs with fast sound
The silence then to my ears do pound
My teeth do chatter with the sudden sound

Life can be dark sometimes when all you can hear is silence
Trying to walk around but the silence makes you uneasy, unsteady
Can you get away from it, away from the darkness that is slowly creeping in?
You clench your teeth as you try to steel yourself but nothing happens, nothing changes
Your hear the sound from a far, a small still sound trying to bring you back
But all you can see is black, can you hold on in the dark? Hold on to the sound
In the silence of the dark world, it seems that the cycle is unending and again
You clench your teeth as you try to steel yourself but nothing happens, nothing changes
You struggle with all your might groping in the dark to try drown out the sound
The sound of silence that has engulfed you. You know that black has never been your color
But it keeps seeking you out in the darkness and you wonder if the sound of silence will ever end
You clench your teeth as you try to steel yourself but nothing happens, nothing changes

dark, black, sound, silence, teeth
I clench my teeth as the cold air takes my breath away.
The sound of the dark night is all around me.
Black is the sky with only stars to guide us.
Silence ends as the evening creatures awake.
