It is feeling like fall

Canada
September 30, 2017 1:02pm CST
Starting Thursday, the temperature took quite a dive. Friday was cooler, and wet(we had a couple thunderstorms blow throw quickly). And today is even cooler even though the sun is shining. Yesterday I fired up the fireplace, because it was just a tad too chilly while I was sitting and crocheting. I had already put on socks, but I just needed a little extra to take the chill out of the air. Since today is Saturday, I am not home alone. There are 4 other bodies here to help keep the place warm. I may still fire up the fireplace tonight, but for now, the house is comfortable.

I’m hoping to get closer to November before we turn on the furnace. It is supposed to get a little warmer next week. I do need to replace the furnace filter before we fire it up.

@paigea me too. Last year we had several issues with the furnace, one after another. We had to rely on our fireplace and 2 space heaters. Hopefully this year is more uneventful.

We have had our furnace running since the temps dropped last week. Thankfully it doesn't run all day. We are supposed to get warmer temps this week. I don't mind a chill in the air though. Fall is a great season filled with bright colors.

Thankfully it’s not too cold all day that sweaters and socks don’t do the trick. At night we have enough blankets to do the job for now. When the forecast calls for it to go below freezing at night is about when we finally turn it on. Or if the house stays below 65 most of the day.

@Morethanamom I wore jeans yesterday. I usually wear capris until it gets frigid. It was cold and damp yesterday.

@ElusiveButterfly I hate the cold. And for some reason, even our warm temperatures don’t feel all that warm to me, unless it’s really hot.

The ac has been off since Thursday morning. The windows were open that day. Since then they have been closed.

It is chilly here too. What a difference two days make. I had to turn on my heat to get the chill out of the aIr.

To borrow a phrase from somewhere... "Winter is coming"! Here in Poland it was a crisp clear autumn day. This evening there was a hint of a chill in the air, a reminder that in a few weeks time we'll be dipping below zero at night. Time to dig the hat and gloves out of the closet - they will be needed soon.

Hopefully it will be at least a month or more before we get below freezing at night. I am not a fan of the cold.
