A new gym opened up close to me!

This is pretty exciting news for me which maybe shows how dull my life is - lol. Just about a week ago a branch of my gym opened at a location only 10 blocks from my home! I could almost walk there (except its mostly uphill on the way there, no thanks). It is conveniently located next to an Aldi as well. Double score! I went there today to have my membership transferred to this one and was impressed with the facility. It has tanning (my last one did too) and about the same amount of machines. No more 20-25 minute drive to my former gym (was only about 6-7 miles away but all stoplights!) Now I am thinking Ill save a lot of driving time and Ill have absolutely zero excuse not to go at least 4-5 times per week. Hurrah! The only downside is upon leaving, there is also a White Castle next door. The smell of fried goodness is not something I care for after a work out. Lol. Also, I am a member at Planet Fitness which has locations across the US. Its extremely affordable with a basic membership for $10 a month or a more "elite" membership for $22 that includes unlimited tanning and the ability to bring one guest per day. How far is your commute to the gym?

That is very convenient for you. There is no gym in the country area where I live.

@maezee Actually our house is opposite the main road which leads into the town, but I am not aware of any gyms in that town, I suppose there would be one or two small ones. However, I would prefer those in the city where I used to live.

I dont have a gym memebership as they are so much cost wise. I do hike which is free usually a 10 minute drive up to 40 minutes.

Nice. Hiking is such a good workout. We get a lot of snow and increment weather here so it is nice to have a place to do the workouts in during thise times.
