Hubby will have his entire day's work done before noon. Then to the heart catheterization. They called yesterday afternoon and preregistered him. While he works this morning I will do a little shopping, see my sister, and go pick up a reserved book for him. I probably will sleep in the car going in to McPherson. We still need to get the cat in for the day, she always wants out first thing. We have no idea when we will actually get home. We were out of bed around 4 this morning. See ya later.

It really was very relaxed. The actual procedure took about thirty minutes. We were glad he could come home and sleep in his own bed.

@GardenGerty It's always a lot better to sleep in our bed.

@LadyDuck Yes, the other choice would have been to have been sent to the hospital through an enclosed walkway. We avoid hospitals whenever possible as that is where sick people are.

I wish the chairs were more comfortable for napping. He napped well in his bed except for when people woke him up to check on things.

@GardenGerty I hate that. I remember being so annoyed with nurses when I was in the hospital-I just wanted to sleep!

He got two or three hours total in the hospital bed. Me, I got a crick in my neck from napping crooked.

He is an excellent patient, in really decent health. We were there for about eight hours total.

Poor Scar...I'm really not all 'with it' this morning, earlier I put his lead on him and then didn't bother opening the front door...he patiently sat there for about 5 minutes until I realized the screen was still shut.

In June he had a stroke. It was determined that the stroke was caused by some unknown damage to his heart. His heart then started having AFib which threw a clot to his brain. The heart doctor gave his heart some time to improve with medication only, but it did not improve.Fixing the heart is an important step in preventing any further strokes. Hubby went in for a procedure called cardiac catheterization to see if any part of his heart was blocked and if he needed stents to open it up. It did not. The next step will be to have a device called a pacemaker put in, so if his heart gets irregular beats the pacemaker can shock it into working right. He had very little lingering effects from his stroke other than a lot of tiredness. The pacemaker should help that.
