The Rumble of Thunder

We've had a busy day. Errands to run, bills to pay. We stopped to do a little grocery shopping on the way home, all the watermelons were gone for the season but found fall crops of spaghetti squash and butternut squash. We hadn't eaten spaghetti or butternut squash since last fall so we loaded up with those.
We also found gala apples, three pounds for 1.49, and Bradford pears three pounds for 1.50. It was a good shopping day but I was glad to get home. Put everything away and stretch out in the swing. It's nice and sunny today but storms are coming in this weekend and I don't intend to go out unless I have to. I hear rumbles of thunder now so the storm might not wait until tomorrow. Me too since Hurricane Nate is going away from the New Orleans area into Mobile Alabama which means Lake Charles is spared any serious rain from Nate.

@RubyHawk Aw! Disappointing. I live in an apartment too -- but I managed to find a community garden that had some room for me. Maybe there is such an opportunity in your area?

The prices on gala apples is great and the price on the pears is also great!! Glad you enjoyed your shopping. I just did our monthly shopping last Wednesday and was glad too to get home and put it all away. Usually my husband helps me put the food away but he was off quickly to go hunting. He hasn't made out well yet. I love thunderstorms!

You got some good buys for certain. We took a drive up the Mckenzie River Hwy and the leaves are turning beautifully. It has cooled off here, in the 60s now for highs and will have freezing temps in the morning soon.

Yesterday we were getting the trailing bands of rain from hurricane Nate, and boy was that thunder rumbling yesterday! The rumbles were deep enough that it was shaking the glass on my windows.
I love spaghetti squash and am very excited that it is back in season! My girlfriend loves cooking squash in many different recipes!
