Do you prefer diesel or gasoline vehicles?

Asking someone if they prefer diesel or gasoline vehicles these days is kind of forgetting a few options. With cars and trucks available that can use electricity only, vehicles that can use diesel or gasoline and so much more, we have many choices. If you have not viewed information about vehicles that use compressed air, you might want to check about these online. Driving my truck which does use diesel can get expensive. However, sometimes we just have to do what we have to do! What would you like to drive these days if you were given a choice?

We have a diesel car. In Australia diesel is slightly cheaper than gasoline.

Here the cost of diesel is a bit more than gas. Wondering what compressed air cars will be when available on the roads here!

@PatZAnthony I haven't heard of compressed air cars. I can't imagine them doing without fuelled cars. What would they do with all the gas and oil fields?

I would drive diesel, when we were in Ireland we had a diesel car and the mileage was just phenomenal.

We enjoy our diesel but would love a compressed air vehicle too! As far as we could learn, these are not available for road use in the USA.

Hope you are doing alright. I guess you are still helping people out down in Florida. Take care of yourself.

@PatZAnthony It is a poor stain on the reputation of the country that we call home.

It is an adventure and a half @Shellyann36 Many in the USA still waiting for things to be put back together since hurricane Katrina. Years go by and things don't get taken care of like they should!

They want to ban diesel cars here because it's finally proved that diesel pollutes a lot more than gasoline.

The diesel we have is not the same as many use. In the USA, the diesel has to be processed in a manner that removes many concerns @LadyDuck

@LadyDuck Many more things should be banned.

@PatZAnthony It's the same here in Europe, but the tests show that in the long run it pollutes more than the gasoline. Here in Switzerland the diesel cars will be banned starting January 2020.

I read that some countries in Europe are banning gas/diesel cars. Personally, I would say I prefer gas cars only because that is what I know. I've driven a Prius several times and that damned graphic on the dashboard showing which way the energy is flowing (battery to engine, engine to battery) freaking distracted the hell out of me. I spent more time watching that than I did watching the road.

I heard that diesel though expensive, is better. I have always used vehicles which need gasoline.

The diesel and gas are both terrible for the environment, but not everyone can afford other transportation.

If I could afford it I might invest in a hybrid. I don't see that happening in the near future.

Gasoline-powered vehicles are faster and more powerful someone told me. Prices of both diesel and gasoline are different as well. Most prefer diesel as it is a lot cheaper.

I would drive a gas car. I hope someday that electric cars and maybe even cars driven by the sun will become popular.

I think electric would be my choice but it would worry me that I would need more power and it wouldn't be available for me especially on long trips. But no, we guzzle gas...

I would really like one of those compressed air vehicles maybe, but until there is a viable, affordable alternative, I guess I'll stick with gasoline.

The vehicle exists that is affordable, but not approved for use here yet, except in factory settings. And they are really small...nothing like my truck!

Driving diesel in our country is considered to be cheaper than the gasoline but in contrast the spare parts of truck are more complicated and expensive

I think its not subsidized, the price just a little cheaper compared to unleaded and other gasoline.

Diesel is probably subsidized in your country. That makes diesel still risky, since the gov could always cut these subsidies.

After VW's dieselgate I realize diesel is not very environmental friendly. It's a technology meant to disappear much sooner than gasoline (which will disappear in a few decades too).

I would love an electric car but its not a good idea with the things I have to haul, and most are not big enough for more than 2 people.
