I'm not doing that again

I already made myself stay away from religious posts. I never actually commented on religious posts, but sometimes comments creep into mine and I learned to just let them be and never comment them. I am not religious, I am not a believer in God and if you are, that is totally cool. I have made myself stay away from political posts. Things about guns, the president, whatever. Just no more. I am very, very progressive, I live in the way of What is right and in the needs of the many views. I don't care if you are Republican, Democrat, or Whatever else, that is cool. I am staying away. And now I am staying away from opinion posts and debates. I just feel like I do not belong there. I am a free thinker and let people think how they think, that is fine, but I am not allowed to think how I think because I am a free thinker. So, that is that. I am just not letting myself near these kinds of posts again. I am not letting myself let this place turn into Facebook for me where everything is about stupid effing politics and debates about religion or whatever. I don't feel safe, I am in a whole different world since most of you are older than me, more experienced, and lived in different times than me. I will keep my words to myself because I don't want to get angry, I don't want to argue and I am just sick of even trying to debate anymore. It isn't fun. I want this place to still be fun for me. I'm just sick of crying.

Actually, you're crying because of the pain you feel on the inside. Verbal abuse hurts, that is something you've experienced, from your Grandmother.

That is a part of it, yes you are right. The other part is just getting so frustrated because of how much I want to blow up at people but I am too gentle to but how easy it is for people to blow up at me heh

@DesirousDreamer I don't ever want to hurt other people, but sometimes we unknowingly do this.

I fear what you're experiencing (and what a lot of people are experiencing for merely verbalizing their opinions ["your [sic] an idiot for voting for that [insert unsavory words] [insert politician's name]!!!"]) is a very sad, vicious epidemic in the former United, now Divided States. We have reached the point in this country where we cannot dialogue anymore. It's all yell at one another instead of listen, look for common goals, and gently discuss the differences. Of course, that's not just limited to politicians: I've been called unsavory things because I don't like Jimi Hendrix and have never seen an episode of Seinfeld. Needless to say, I think the political side of it brings out the worst of the worst in people, but it's dang near everywhere today. And if we, as a nation, don't stop it and start re-learning how to be civil in our alleged "civilized society," we're not going to be a nation much longer.

It seems like anyone who is of my generation feels this way. There is no way for us to be open-minded or to have an opinion because everyone wants to be right instead of listen. You are very right, we need to learn to be civil.

That's a shame. I don't like to debate either. I don't like raised voices or conflict in my life much less online.

I like to debate, but only with people who can see things from both sides.

That's what makes me sick about when people 'give glory' to some Name or some Symbol or something ... we praise 'god' or 'jebus' or 'odin' or 'patriotic veterans' or whatever for the love they showed. Maybe--if you read a post that seems to be about 'religion or politics or opinions' etc.--you can explain how Love would work best in the situation.

That is what I have done and it gets shut down. I rather not have my blood pressure raised for people who cannot look at both sides.

@DesirousDreamer I guess that's when we thank 'God' for the grace people show (when they have every right to 'shut down' the post for-any reason or -no reason at all, but they graciously let it remain and accrue revenue-credit ... and "God" there is mostly just a word we use to talk about 'everyone who we trust is doing God's will' )

I am sorry you are feeling that way. I avoid conflict or getting into discussions that I know will upset me.

Yeah, I guess I got a little overzealous with how friendly people are, sometimes forget that some people are very very opinionated

Don't cry, life won't treat you kind even though you cry a lot.

@Behindtheguitarbar Crying is the healthiest thing a person can do to their body. I rather cry than build up the rage making people feel miserable like these people made me feel

@DesirousDreamer release the bad feelings and wipe the tears away. You could find the happy things awaiting for you. Wish you have a good day.

I don't blame you. Sometimes you have to do what's best for you. I pick and choose what I respond to online in general.

@DesirousDreamer Exactly. And being around too much negativity is draining. We can't always help it, but if you can control what you're around (even online), then you gotta do what's best for you.

Our generation really is more open and broad-minded people. that is why we are all fighting for what is right instead of just keeping up with traditions.

I feel your pain. I try not to discuss politics and sports since it is best for me to keep quiet about things I do not know much about or are sensitive subjects.

I know a lot about politics, but it is from a modern standpoint where others are stuck in the 50s belief system of politics haha But I just need to say my piece else where.

This is my escape from the drama from facebook. I try NOT to post anything hat people don`t like to read and more about my own life. I am sorry you have let people get to you, I walk away when some get that ... crazy. If I ever made you cry I am sorry. I never intend to hurt anyone with my words,

That is what I am doing now, it is just walking away, there is just no need for it. I'll say my opinions at rallys and marches, not a place that earns me money. Because if I get into arguments, they it just seems like blood money.
