Crossing A Busy Road

Guess what I saw crossing a busy road before? A CROW! Guess next HOW it did it? By looking left, right, left, right constantly until it crossed to the other side safely. Isn't that fascinating? I spent a long time watching that silly bird, crossing, re-crossing, crossing again, and its technique was wonderful, just like a cautious human. I tried to figure out if that was a he or a she. I was tempted to think that that was a silly male bird. (Females are often more cautious and this crow is definitely not a blond. It was black from head to tail! ) Do you often see funny sights like that crazy crow crossing a busy road just to peck at something on the other side? If you were driving a car and saw that silly jaywalker, what would you do? (run it over to teach it a lesson? )

Crows are smarter than many birds. I took this picture a few months ago. A crow was enjoying a rat's burger, while another one was staying at a turn not far and was warning the other one when a car was coming. Crows are as organized than humans or apes, and they can do very good pets.

They made a program about crows once on TV of how intelligent these crows could be (and also very vindictive if someone crossed them). I learned to respect crows since.

Crows are intelligent birds, I wonder why he was going back and forth a busy road. He surely had a reason.

I was so tempted to take a photo of that crow, but it looked at me like, 'don't be silly!' so I just stood there smiling....

I still don't understand why it needed to cross the road like that, over and over, like it was claiming its territory or something. Funny the way it checked the coming traffic.

Dang squirrels are in abundance trying to get that last nut to their nest for winter. They dance across the highway, go a few steps forward a take several back before trying it all over again.

smart cat! Some dogs and cats on my street were not that smart, they got run over. Their owners told me and they said afterward, they never had another one ever again. They felt too heartbroken.

Aw, that is so cute that it was so cautious. I just wish it had found a pedestrian crossing. ;)

@YrNemo yes, that would have been much more ideal for Mr. or Mrs. Crow!

Crows are one of the most intelligent birds. I'd definitely not run it over, or any other innocent animal, if I could help it.

@YrNemo Lol! We've had problems with duck, turkey, and goose crossings, but they're so cute, it makes everyone smile and relax.

@DianneN Hope those creatures are smart enough to avoid any crossing activity the moment dusk comes.

A number of times I had to slow down the car, because some silly fat pigeons were being philosophers at the middle of the road... I would beep at them, and beep again, until they slowly moved out of my way. (Made me think of cows in India .)

We don't give animals enough intellectual credit. It makes me want to become vegetarian, but only briefly. Don't crows use stones to break things ... they're exceedingly clever little things.

They did say that if you cross a crow, it is likely to tell its friends, and arrange some sort of confrontations later. The human could never win I was told.

If we could record them all, and show them on youtube, wow, think of the money we could make there! (Do you know that some youtubers are making millions of US dollars per month?) It would be tiring though, fighting with the tax people over that sort of income. Let me go back to watching those funny crows on my road .
