It hurt like hell...

And I swear I'm never going back there again. Spur of the moment I decided to have a skin care facial yesterday. I failed to book at my favorite skin spa, Skinitecs, so my second option was to be a walk-in client in SkinSTation, my second choice. Unfortunately, a lot of people have booked in there too so I went to the one next to it, the DermCare. It was a wrong choice. I should have just booked at Skinetics the next day. I suffered from a lot of pain. From the time the aesthetician touched my face I already knew her hands were too heavy. Her voice was gentle but her hands were too cruel. And she took time preparing for her tools and made me wait for too long. What normally takes an hour in Skinetics and SkinStation, takes almost two hours in that clinic. Lesson learned. Stick with the ones I'm used to.

After reading your title, I thought you might have gotten a tattoo.

You didn't speak up to let her know to do a gentler job? I am sorry to hear that! I'd stick to a loyal spot as well.

@infatuatedbby Yeah, I think she was really enjoying pricking and getting into my skin. Now I'm afraid I will have some scarring.

You immediately feel when someone has not a gentle touch. No matter how much you ask to be gentle, some simply cannot do a nice job.

@LadyDuck Me too. Though I'm not really sensitive to dental cleaning, I prefer to go to someone I'm most comfortable with.

@toniganzon I am very sensible for teeth cleaning, I always want the have the same dental hygienist who I know from more than 10 years and has a very light hand.

I am sorry you experienced that. Didn't you tell her that what she is doing hurts your face?

Of course I did. But it's beyond her control.

@SIMPLYD No. The pain happens only during the pricking. After that there's no more pain. The bad thing is that, what she did left some scarring on my face.

Of course, as far as skin care is concerned, it is good to stick to the one who knows well your skin. But for other things, it is worthwhile to try other ones. Example: TLC = tender loving care - - I believe I have an edge on every one else. I am really good at it. Believe me. So, if ever you crave for one unique tender loving care, Toni- - I am just up here in cold Canada.

Ouch! I only get facials at certain spas, but do visit a dermatologist or plastic surgeon for other "beauty" treatments. Some hurt, some don't, depending on the treatment. lol

i believe anybody should have a light hand so the customers won't be hurt. i had my check-up yesterday and the medical technologist extracted blood from me. her hands were light and i just felt a tiny prick it did not even hurt.

@toniganzon i hope by now your face is better. when we went to the grocery yesterday, i chanced upon seeing some shampoos and conditioners that showed the "no paraben", and i thought about you. tresemme is one hair product that has no paraben.

I never tried facial skin care before and how I would like to try. Just like the nurse that we have in the center, she's nice but she also has a heavy hand and it hurts every time she inserted the needle to my arms.
