Displaying treasures under glass

While in Ireland we spent an interesting morning at Avoca which is a collection of individual shops but all under one roof and with no dividing walls. Each item has a code so at the end of the day the different items are credited to the correct businesses.
There were some lovely items there and it’s where Damian bought a cap for Vince. Despite our utmost care, it was mislaid and we went back to buy another to replace it.
We had coffee and cake there too and I loved the glass-topped tables which had various collections underneath. Most of the tables were occupied so I had to be content with a photo of this one of a pig farm.
It’s a novel way of displaying shells or special bits and pieces. Maybe I can talk Vince into making one for me. I have lots of items I’d like to display in this way.

Neat idea! I have a collection of 4-leafed clovers that I could display. It would make a great looking table.

@JudyEv I would worry about the glass breaking though.

@ElusiveButterfly I guess it is toughened glass of some sort. They wouldn't want anything too easily broken in a restaurant.

"I'll have my usual table, the pig farm," says the regular diner.

@bunnybon7 Old photos are a great idea too. I'm getting more and more tempted to get one now.

That's a lovely table. Having one at one will certainly be a good centerpiece and conversation topic.

@JudyEv true. Your only limitation is your imagination with what to display.

@JudyEv and they wouldn't need dusting either!

Sheels wouldn't fall over if you moved the table either. I have all sorts of bits and pieces that would look nice under glass - pill boxes, the little antique things of my folks that I've been show-casing lately. I might even need two tables!

Yes I would do this as well, they would not collect dust.

That's the main trouble with lots of ornaments. They collect so much dust.
