Last Night I Made Plans for Today....Forgot I Had to Work!

Time got away from me yesterday afternoon. Was supposed to pick my daughter up after Little Miss woke from her nap. It was after dinner and nearly time for her bath when I got a message from her mother saying we could meet on Sunday to do something. Well, I planned out our day, starting at 9:00 so we could get an early start. With that done, I rounded up Little Miss to get her tubby done and over with. We came out and sat on the sofa with Grampy for a while when it hit me. I had to work on Sunday. When I have to work the weekend, it is both Saturday and Sunday. Why I forgot that I had Sunday off is beyond me. Wishful thinking I guess. So I quickly grabbed my phone and sent her a text message to explain the brainfart I had. She laughed. Told me she could be ready to face the day at 11:00 better than 9 anyway. She is not a morning person. It is now 7:37 on Sunday. Little Miss just woke up. Time to get her ready to roll. I too have to get ready. Have you ever thought you had time off when you actually had to work or had other plans?

@ElusiveButterfly I didn't think we could at our young age, but my husband has a pension which helped immensely. He worked for the State of Illinois for 37 years and retired at age 58.

That happens when I forget what day it is. Then I either relax, or have to scramble to get ready to leave.

I just forgot for a moment. It is supposed to be really nice outside today. I guess it threw me off.

@ElusiveButterfly It happens. Nice here too. On the cool side, but the sun is shining after a full night of rain.

@just4him we spent the early afternoon at the deer park. It was windy, but nice. Couldn't eat our lunch at the tables because the wind was blowing too hard. We sat in my vehicle and watched the deer while we ate.

There are times when I almost forget things. Thankfully I usually remember in time.

I have been retired for 7 years so most of the time I am in control of my time.

I guess I just wanted a day off. LOL. Working weekends has been a sore spot for me. I'd rather be with my family.

@BelleStarr I just want to wake up, do what I have to do at home, then find something fun or worthwhile doing.

I always work Monday to Friday with weekends off so I don't have to worry about messing up my schedule. After you finish your work I hope you have a good day with Little Miss and her mom.

@Happy2BeMe it was a fun time. We had to finish our lunch inside my vehicle though. The wind was blowing really hard. Our meal was blowing off the table!

I do get mixed up often as to what day it is probably since I don't work . Good thing you remembered or it would have been awkward if you didn't show up for work

I told my client what I did. She laughed at me. I tell her that I am there to entertain her. She agrees.

Mike had to remind me back in the spring time that it was my day to go clean a customers home. For some reason I thought it was the following week. Good thing being self employed I don't have to punch in.

I should think about doing that when I am ready to do retire.
