I'm sitting in my motel room waiting for morning. Tomorrow at 8:30 a cabbie will meet me in the lobby and I'll begin my journey back.
Lots to think about tonight. Neither daughter nor I are perfect. Lots of baggage but its been a wonderful set of days. Hot and more hot temps. Dry. Drink water, herbal tea, coconut water, drink and drink!
I shared my last two poems with her before she headed out the door for the final time. She is not a hugger. I grabbed her anyway, me standing barefoot then on the hot pavement near her car. Will we get together next year in Vegas when we travel to see hubby's elderly uncle?? Will it be another five years? We're so far apart in so many ways and yet we are Mom and daughter.
I hope to get some form of rest tonight. Tomorrow will be a long, hard traveling day for me. Two hour drive from the airport in the dark for a nightcap. Must sleep or fake it tonight!

@RichardMeister My hubby's uncle is in Vegas. He's getting up there so we're thinking along the lines of we should go visit him before its too late- daughter could meet us there, perhaps.

@RichardMeister I'm not a gambler or one who likes glitz so Vegas makes me a bit nervous but for Unc? I'd go.

@andriaperry Thanks. I'm sure going to try. Sweet hubby said that if I was too tired at the home airport that I should grab a motel there and wait until daylight to drive the final two hours. I hate to do that.
