I recently got into watching this series 90 day fiance, it's a long story I don't know. But it made me realize how people can be so desperate about finding love.
This one in particular spent his 401k to see a Filipina woman he barely knew despite the fact she had met other men recently. Not to mention lied about having sex with them.
Okay, so she met him at the airport, went to the province and they cooked her roast pig. He even sign the cross before eating them, which sounded unpleasant to him and it got her fiance extremely and emotionally upset.
Talk about idiot, he didn't even bother researching her country's or even her province culture. They probably didn't talk about their likes or dislikes specially when it comes to food.
Now, look at the mess they're in.

Uh oh. I wonder how "that" ends . . . doesn't sound too promising! The guy couldn't even "act" respectful or appreciative - that was a total slap in the face to the hosts - the potential future family. It's a bad situation if it's marriage they're looking for, but it sure makes for good drama on a show!
