A Silly Question: “What would you do if you were in the forest and the bush was moving?”

I had seen some online teaching bloopers lately. I never thought that it will happen in one of my online classes. My student and I were having a discussion about wild creatures in the forest. With such enthusiasm, I asked this question: “What would you do if you were in the forest and the bush was moving?” The student answered with full confidence that he will definitely run for his life. Now, the follow-up question was, “Why are you going to run?” The student said, “It might be a ghost behind the bushes.” Oh, boy! I just laughed out loud and thought that it can be a possible answer. I was anticipating that it might be a big bear lurking behind the bushes. How about you, guys? Would you run or investigate? Image Credit: pixabay.com

I would not investigate, it could be a big and dangerous animal, better to keep the distance. Running is never a good idea, moving away trying not to make noise is the best.

I agree. It would be nice in the safe mode. We cannot bring back one's life due to dangering ourselves.

I think that would be a good idea. We can use a long stick and be prepared to run if ever.

I would run too as fast as I can, away from that moving bush. Who knows there is a wild animal camouflaging and ready to attack anyone living that he sees. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Better to keep a safe distance. It might just be the wind or a wild boar but worse would be if you came across the trysting place of two lovers who enjoy doing it "Au naturel"

@Shavkat Nah, I don't think I can. Now that my second Brother has a food business outside our house. It's too difficult to concentrate on that, especially with background noise.

I agree. It is normal to feel apprehended. Since I am a curious person, I will investigate what makes the bushes moving.

I would go back the same way as I got there but trying not to run of course. But a lot would panic. Even I might panic if I can´t see what is there. Maybe better not to know what could be there anyway.

@Shavkat No, panic means survival as it is part of our system to protectt us and make us try and escape at the very least. Good job we have the panic button in all of us.

I'd run first and investigate later - when I was hidden behind a bigger bush!

That is a very interesting question. I would wonder if I was hallucinating first and since I am a curious person may go check it out to see if it really is moving and then maybe run for the hills or for where people are around and ask them to check it out with me.

I agree. In our country's myth, some old people claimed that there are some humans turned into creatures that eat people. Who knows it might be the one?
