Watching A Spider!

United States
October 20, 2017 8:48am CST
Good morning all you myLotters. I was just sitting in my rocking chair enjoying a cup of coffee and the sunshine coming through the window. Well as I sat there all of a sudden I noticed a small spider, thankfully it is on the outside of the widow I was looking through. Well it would make it a small distance and fall. It repeated this several times and then I didn't see it for about 1 minute. Then suddenly it appeared once again in a different location on the widow and it continues to try to make its way up the window. They are really neat to watch as it is very determined to make its way up the window. Have any of you sat and watched a spider or different bug in action? Picture by bing.com

I really, really don't like spiders. I think their webs are pretty glistening in the sunlight but I don't like to see the spider itself.

@HazySue I too dislike spiders and I've had some experiences with spiders that left me trembling. But when it comes to spider webs especially one the sun is glistening on and you can see the whole thing (outside) its just special. I don't know how else to put it.

@Butchcass4 It is amazing how a little spider can make such a beautifully designed web.

The cats usually give me an indication that something is going on on the outside. When I see them pawing at the window, I know something is up @Butchcass4 .

@nanette64 Wow that's amazing! A spider the size of your hand is Big! Weren't you scared? I bet the web was fantastic. They are amazing creatures. God is so awesome with how He made even each spider. They have their purpose here too, even though I don't like them, especially inside!

@Butchcass4 Oh yeah. One of the best ones that I ever saw was when I stepped out onto my front porch and saw this lime-green spider; the size of my hand. Her web was thick enough to have used to crochet something. It was amazing. I'm still not sure what kind it was.

There is one trapped between the screen of my patio door, and my actual patio door. It has been there for days, and I'd really like to see it crawl it's way out.

@AmbiePam Yes that would be a hassle as you can't get to it to clean it out right? I like clean windows myself. My fascination of spider webs will lose its appeal after a while. Like I said I like clean windows so I can see outside good.

Recently i've been reading discussions about spiders here in mylot and then saw one in my bathroom. I was kind of surprised because it's the first time over 8 years of being in this house that I saw a spider.

@Butchcass4 They're there for a reason and as long as they don't harm us, I don't really mind much.

@Butchcass4 I love animals though not all of them. I particularly love dogs but now I have a cat and I love him. Friends make me laugh.

@toniganzon You are so right! God created them and they have a purpose just like we do. Isn't it amazing knowing we are created in God's own image an likeness! What really blows my mind is how many different faces He has created! And how even animals have different personalities. I don't know if you are an animal lover but I am and I love to watch especially baby kittens play. I have seen video's on youtube of cats and kittens playing, leaping and doing all kinds of funny things. I laugh so much when I watch them. I don't laugh at much but cats and kittens definitely get me laughing. I thank God for those moments in life. How about you what makes you laugh?

I get bored of watching spiders quite fast, especially if they're small. I often watch stink bugs, but that's because they're very noisy. Or wasps because I'm afraid of them.

@Butchcass4 The last time I took a photo of a stink bug, I made a discussion about it.
The baby on the left is a moth. A tiny one, I know. I thought it was her making all this noise, buzzing like a helicopter and hitting the walls like a loony. I...

@sabtraversa I went to your link and saw the stink bug and instantly recognized it. I live in Northeastern PA and I know we have them too. However I haven't seen one in a long time! If I saw one in my house I would have it go on a piece of tissue and carry it outside to avoid the "stink" lol!

@sabtraversa I would probably get bored if I were just watching the spider make a web too! I can't remember the last time I saw a stink bug, can you get a picture of one and post it? Oh I hate wasps too they are mean and their sting hurts!

I like watching praying mantis. With other insects, I am only keen to squash them (except the bees !).

@YrNemo Praying mantis are also amazing creatures (insects). I'm especially amazed what they do to the males when they are done mating, ugh what a horrible ending! They take their heads off! Ugh!! Where I live they are a protected species. How about where you live?

@Butchcass4 I have no clue about praying mantis being protected or not here. We rarely see them and they disappear too fast too.

Not really - but that spider's actions should be a lesson to those who give up easily.

@Kandae11 You are absolutely right! It definitely is a good lesson for us who give up too easily. I tend to do that myself and am asking God to help me to do better. Like I'm trying to learn how to read music and play the keyboard I have, well Mary Had a Little Lamb and Row Row Row Your Boat just doesn't do it for me. For now I can't afford to take piano lessons, however I am considering a part time job. I have problems with my neck and my right hand and have decided to go to physical therapy to get help. I've gone before and they helped me. I just signed up for OVR (Occupational Vocational Rehabilitation) as I've been disabled for many years but I'm only 54 so I can't collect social security, I don't qualify because of my husbands income. If it were just me I would qualify, but it would only be around $500.00 or so. That would just pay the rent. My husband is retired and works part time when work is available. Lately he hasn't had much work available and its made things tight financially, but God is providing all we need and I believe He'll continue to take good care of us as He always has!
