No, not the type found on a ship (always referred to in the plural, I am told!), or the shrunken type allegedly popular with certain South American tribes, but: pumpkin heads.
These fine chaps volunteered some of their innards as part-ingredients to a lovely pot of pumpkin, potato, parsnip and carrot soup I made tonight (using the recipe below as a rough basis...). I know I'll have something warm awaiting me after trick-or-treating around the neighbourhood tomorrow eve.
Enjoy the Halloween break, if you get one!

@TiarasOceanView I love them roasted like below. Hope you enjoy yours!
The Hairy Bikers' roast parsnips are an essential part of roast dinner tradition and a real favourite side dish. Cooked in a sticky sweet honey glaze, the Hairy Bikers' roasted parsnips are one of the most delicious sides to add to your Sunday dinner. Thes

I love all those root vegetables and pumpkin is a great vegetable that I have learned to like a lot.
Loads of vitamins too.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I was not so keen on it in pumpkin pie years ago, but maybe I should try it again, to be sure

Hmmm... quite handsome fellows you have there, pgn! (Who modeled for them? )
I agree, I would not want to Trick or Treat in one of the Heads on a ship... Literally, you would be opening yourself up for something you might not actually want!
I will pass on the soup. I will eat raw pumpkin but not cooked in any form!

Figments of my, or the younger members of my family's, imagination - sketched onto Post-Its™ and transcribed into fluent pumpkin by yours truly
I did wonder why a ship's toilet's called "the head", or "the heads", to be precise.
Pumpkin raw? Hmm. I thought your side of the pond made them into pies, I had pumpkin pie once, made by a lovely lady from Idaho, as I recall. T'was ok.

@pgntwo Good imaginations, pgn...
Yes, people here (and grocery stores) do have pumpkin pies at Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas...
There are quite a few fruits and vegetables I like raw that I won't eat cooked.
Pumpkins are one fruit I won't eat cooked! *shrug!*

@DaddyEvil Raw, as Nature intended. Carrots, celery, (never tried pumpkin!), melons... peas, beans, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce.. all good raw, I will eat them either way. However, potatoes, parsnips, zucchini, aubergines (eggplant), cauliflower, spinach - all those I prefer cooked. Tomatoes are actually better for you if cooked, or seared - the lycopene is concentrated by the evaporation of water during cooking, apparently.
Loads of literature on it, if you can stomach soch turgid tomes:
