Investing is better than saving? Do you agree?

I haven't tried investing my money in stock market although it sounds good once you are already expert on it. On the other hand, my investment at the present is my education. In two years time, I will finally graduate from my degree and it will open doors for me for more income in the future. How about you? Where do you invest your time or your money?

Investing can be risky so if given the choice I would rather save than invest.

@cahaya1983 You have a point in there, but some people say that investment can multiple the amount you will get than just merely saving.

@annierose That's true but there are still a few things to consider (type of investment, return, risks, etc).

When you invest and succeed in it, you will get much more than when you only save. But remember this: Never count your chicken before they are hatched.

@yanzalong True! That is a famous saying which tells us not to be over confident in something. Anyway, have you tried investing?

I dont really. At least savings just grow. Investments are more risky.

@maezee Yes, investing is risky. It is like gambling, sometimes we win and sometimes we lose.

In my own company. I learned from my mother that if we don't take risks, we will never get to where we are. She succeeded in investing in her own business and I am following her track.

@toniganzon That is true. We have to take risk or else we might ended up having regrets.

@toniganzon Investing money in your own business is another matter. This is what we also did.

Investing without knowing the market is too risky. You could invest your money in something that pays a fixed interest. Do not invest in the stock market if you are not an expert or you have an expert you can really trust.

@LadyDuck Thanks Ana. That is the reason I don't want to plunge in the idea of investing in stock market because I am not really that smart when it comes to that.

Make a savings account that earns money, so although you are saving you are making money, a little but better than none. As far at the stock market I would suggest investing in something solid like a utility be cause people will always want power. If you have a larger amount go for CD`s in a long term saving situation, in US they are insured and you will less likely lose any money but gain interest and its less risk. The only way to make something of yourself in life is to take risks, sometimes we lose and learn but sometimes we roar and become more than we ever thought we could. My advice is not to put all your money and time into one thing, learning more than one thing means if one crashes you have something else to fall back on.

@kiran8 My mom believes that buying a land is a good form of investment. She has been saving my monthly income so she can buy the land beside our house.

I don't have money to invest, so that leaves me with time - I invest my time in writing.

@just4him Sometimes, I also spend time writing. I know it is a good investment. Just like yours, you can earn from what you are doing. And what makes it more beautiful is that you love what you are doing.

@annierose Yes, I do. I've thought about what I would do if I didn't write. Nothing ever comes to mind. I love writing.

I think that investing is better, when you know what you really need to get from it, you should develope and improve yourself, keep going to reach your goals.

It is hard to say. But according to Chinese, saving is still our main habit. If we don't have some savings, we will be nervous for the future. Investment is also important, however, as you know it is also risky. Big profit comes with bigger risk.

@youless Somehow it is like a game. Sometimes we win and sometimes we love. But I think, what really matter is at least we tried. That way, we won't have what if's later.

Saving is essential to investing, because it provides the seed capital and provides for the fundamental idea of making money more valuable. But saving alone is not enough. Investing is certainly better. It is the means by which you can best grow your savings. As for higher education, it is essentially a waste of money. One car earn more without a degree in many situations, just depends on what profession one decides to get into. Besides. All a degree does is provide for one to keep working. If you save and invest properly, eventually saving and investing can become your profession.
