A messy Monday home.

It's the most dreaded day of the week. Monday. It is called Monday Blues, sometimes. Meaning back to a hectic work week. Monday is a spin day for me. I keep spinning around the house, doing my best to clean up the poltergeist state of the house my two daughters left. The wet towels on the bed, the shirts and socks thrown out of place in the rack, hampers of laundry, and a counter full of tea concoctions, bread slices and fruits. My! I do feel Cinderella.Ha ha. No mice. With sweet chirping birds. That's my home, circa ages ago. It's no castle, but definitely a warming abode.

My house is always the same way. Lol. I'm usually picking up after little ones and telling the older ones to get up and help. =)

The travails of a young mother. Those are the best years of motherhood. Enjoy it. Savor each moment when you are picking toys and books and shirts while preparing meals and answering the silliest of Why Questions. The children are bonding with you. That bond will last a lifetime. When they have gone and soared their wings, you will miss them. But they will always come back. All because of you.

@LovingMyBabies Happy birthday to your youngest. Twelve is the awkward age, leaving childhood and entering adolescent age. A mother allays all the growing up fears. Make the most of the sweet motherhood moments.

@eileenleyva Yes I do know the years go by too fast. My oldest is 12 years old today and I feel like it was just yesterday I had her! It's crazy but I love every moment of being a mother to all 5 of my kids.

Ha ha ha ha ha. How deceiving my home looks. It is a small house. It looks big because it is elevated. My sala measures five by four meters squared. We can barely walk with two pianos side by side. Sigh.

And when the fence is painted pink, it will be lovely.

@ilocosboy Old rose. Ha ha. A mushy taste. My daughters, however, want to paint a rainbow bridge and all the pictures of our beloved canines. We lost four last summer.

Nope. Here's the one in Antipolo. It has seen better days. Now, it has a Eugenia and gumamela in front. I could barely maintain it.

@louievill I designed the house, not just for a dwelling but also for a mini nursery and tutorial place. I was hands-on with two tots and needed an income. For a decade, this was my haven. Blue and white, in honor of the Blessed Mother. I don't worry about security, the subdivision has guards. Although I am not a member of any association. Please show me a picture of your house.

@eileenleyva this one looks similar to our house, bungalow style built in the 70s, even our gate looks similar haha, our wall also used to be like that but now its already all hollow blocked instead of grills, higher with steel matting on top, ever since a lot of informal settlers settled in the surrounding perimeter fence of our subdivision.we had to be more security conscious

Nope, my home is not really big. Just the right size. Small, actually. But comfortable enough for me and my two girls.

@averygirl72 Okay. Just because I never did consider my self poor. Ha ha. Nope, my house is as humble. It only appears huge because it is elevated from the street, Now, actually, it is as shabby. It needs repainting.

Funny. Ha ha. Tuesday is my recovery day. It's a no errand, no chore day. I could get out and have a leisure lunch or coffee somewhere. I can even watch a movie with friends. A long way till weekend. Saturday and Sunday are always full of activities.

True. True. Absolutely true. I can barely maintain the cleanliness of my small house, what more of a castle. Don't stress your self too much. There's a Tuesday after Monday.

Just the stuff they leave behind on an early Monday morning rush. They have become resourceful and bring their laundry to the mall laundry services. But when they are home, my neat nook becomes topsy-turvy. I can't complain. They do the marketing, the cooking, the pet grooming, the mopping, while I laze around mylotting. I rise from my places of indolence, such as the computer chair and the comfortable bed to walk to the counter for my dainty meals. Ha ha ha

Are your daughters 'off to school'? off to 'live with another family-member'? If they're old enough (to pick up after themselves ), it might help to think of 'whatever they are doing elsewhere' as "something they are doing so that you do not have to" (the same way 'you are cleaning so that they do not have to'). Eventually you can teach them that "if they do whatever cleaning they can do, it gives you more time to do things for them that only-you can do (that they can't do yet)."

Very sound advice. My daughters' work and schedules entail the busy and the overload. One works for disaster that eat up even her sleeping time. The other has a regular routine of pre-duty, duty and from duty, but whenever there are more patients in the delivery room. she just couldn't say "I have to go." Home is where my daughters can relax a little bit. Rarely do they find hours together, watch a movie, and catch up with updates. They cook and clean up, but when the clutter accumulate and they couldn't attend to the sorting, I leave it be. My house is for the dwelling and the relaxing. The clutter can be attended to later.

@mythociate Facebook has become a little too open. My daughters friends are mostly colleagues in their lines of work. It would not be palatable to show domestic trifles. Facebook is actually utilized to disseminate their concerns about their works. I don't peel into their pages, or any other friend, unless i was notified about something. Anyways, it is Christmas break now. We can enjoy discarding things that are not essential any longer.

Thank you. That pic was from my daughter's phone. That is my current reflection. Ha ha. My house is split-level, meaning I have stairs. Not exactly designed for old people. And I am getting old.

@hereandthere When I had it repaired a decade ago, I did ask the architect to provide a ramp at the garage, have another door leading to the bedroom, and a walk-in closet. That's my paradise now. Ha ha

@eileenleyva some people build a bedroom and toilet on the first level to make it easier for older members.

Oh wow, the juvenile goes complaining. Ha ha. You must be young. Older people don't complain as much. Schedule your dates on a Friday or a Saturday night, so you won't have hang-overs the following morning. Keep to dinner and movie time Sunday nights with family. You could rest and perk up for a Monday.

@rey123 My elder daughter does the same. She talks to Siri like that AI is her sister. Sigh. After office hours, she stays at Coffee Bean till her nape aches. She calls me around half past eight to say good night but she won't be retiring yet till she sends her e-mail to her boss. Sometime midnight. Breakneck, that's it. NB. The eight hours of night sleep are for revitalizing the eight organs of the body. One hour for each organ. Skin is that last to heal. So, don't cheat on it. Wrinkles will come out. Ha ha

@eileenleyva Haha.....I think its because we have fallen prey to what the social commentators refer to as 'the breakneck pace of life', or the 24/7 society that never sleeps.I've been trying alot to go to bed early......but find it extremely hard in this technological age with my phone buzzing all night........Thankyou for your advice.....I'll try my best to hit the bed early......
