Oh dear, he has done it again. Where did this five year old figure out the way to miss some school is to turn every alarm clock off? He is such a nice child, but last night he even found the alarm under my daughter's pillow........ Anyone else had their child do this?

That is a smart child, but it is also quite concerning as to why he would do that. Perhaps someone should talk to him as to why he wanted to miss school, other than just wanting to stay home and play.

We have been trying to find out for ages. At first he was upset as he thought they changed his name. The teacher was saying "NoahR" and "NoahB" and he said his name was Noah.

@Jackalyn I am just hoping he is not getting bullied or has a social anxiety. Normally kids who really reject going to school might have something going on that they want to get away from. I would know, because I was one of those kids. I could never have perfect attendance because I never wanted to go to school.

@DesirousDreamer Socially, he is an Alpha kid, and very interesting to watch as he seems to be a natural leader. I know my daughter investigated the bullying angle because of course, that was the first thought. However, we now think Noah just prefers to play and sees school as a kind of optional extra. I should add that I was a school refuser, my kids were both school refusers and so I do wonder if it is something we are unconsciously conveying. I gave up and home schooled my daughter at one point. It is also possible he is bored. This won't be the school's fault as such, but this was the root of my and my kids school refusal.

I am getting my suspicions. Believe me I raised a child of mensa intelligence and it runs in the family. People who think this a blessing are wrong....

I have never had a child do such a thing. It is funny but I am sure that it is frustrating.

I posted about him doing this once before.....he seems to be making it a habit. (That is why the alarm clock was under my daughter's pillow....)
