Perkins Family Restaurants are pretty good

Are any of you familiar with Perkins Family Restaurants? They are a regionalized chain absent on the west coast. I have dined at Perkins locations in the Midwest from Boise to western Wisconsin and Florida’s Gulf Coast. They are basically quiet restaurants with an older clientele. Prices are reasonable. There is even a savings menu. My favorite is the $8 “Double Catch” comprised of two crispy cold fillets, four jumbo fried shrimp and french fries. More than enough to eat. From the sandwich menu, I like the chicken strips melt on grilled sourdough with smoked bacon and pepperjack cheese. Very good. Off the 55 plus menu, I usually get the chicken strips dinner that comes with two sides (your choice) and honey mustard sauce. The serving is filling enough. Service is always pleasant. One time it was was cherry pie night so I got a free slice for dessert. I hope there are Perkins wherever I travel next and quality is maintained.

My first "real" job was at a Perkins restaurant. It was a tough one, but one thing that was fun was break time when we got to eat all their food!

@JohnRoberts but I did come from the states. So I guess this was just one restaurant that was not in NYC if they have been around for a long time.

You are in Latvia so it stands top reason you would not be familiar.

I've never heard of that chain, maybe we have one that I didn't know about. I love seafood but it's usually fairly pricey here.

I have been to Perkins in PA where one of our daughter's lives and in FL when we go during the Winter months. Food is great, reasonable and excellent desserts.
