Here She Goes Again...

Ages ago I happened to see an ad asking for 3 good single mattresses for a big family with 5 little boys. I promptly called the number since some overseas students whom I made friends to had dumped their supposedly new' mattresses at my place prior to going back home (somewhere in Malaysia).
A very young father (mid 20s) and his young father (early 50s) came to collect the mattresses right the next day. The pretty mother thanked me nicely by email soon after.
Thought that was it, but I got another email 3 months later, asking me to vote for her youngest toddler to be the best baby. I cursed life a bit, but looked at the little toddler's photo. He was reasonably cute like most babies advertised for baby formula milk. Yes, he got a vote from me.
Don't know how the mother traced my name, but since then, I kept receiving either emails or invitations to join her on this or that social sites which I happened to be a member.
A decade has passed, I just got some more invitations to join her on LinkedIn . NB. I often ignored her emails and invitations.
Have you ever helped someone, only to be tangled further in their webs?

It seems that some make lists and are constantly asking for more.

@DianneN Just a mother with five boys (or perhaps with more kids by now?) who wants to make sure her offsprings have enough (or more) providers?
From what the young father proudly told me (they come from a farming area but he and his father were finding works as handymen), they were good at producing kids!
(Irish./scottish background I would guess! Good looking (blond) family!)

Wow, that sounds tough! Good luck with them trying to pull you in. The nearest thing I can think of - is we used to have these "friends" who were kind of like shysters.
Could we "donate" to their kid's college funds?
Could we donate to their kid wanting to be a missionary?
Could we donate because the dad wanted to run for politics?

I would have blocked her email immediately, I assume you were just helping not trying to become her friend for life lol

One invitation I have often got is from a singing teacher whom I had once hired to teach one of my kids (ages ago). She has kept sending us messages asking my kid to return (I have to admit I paid her good money during that period!) despite our prior agreement that my kid needed only 10 lessons in total. Uncomfortable moments for me whenever that teacher contacts me again.

@LadyDuck I kept wondering though, if she had agreed with me that we would only contract her as a singing teacher for 10 lessons, while we agreed to pay more per hour because of that short term, why does she act like we quit too early. That puzzles me. (I paid about a hundred dollars (US) per hour several years back.)

With five little boys to look after, she was probably completely frazzled and extremely grateful. Probably her way of saying thank you. I have a real-life *friend* who is like this, but she does it face to face, which is highly uncomfortable.

I think it would have freak me out. That would have been a scam or something worst.
