I'm a Winner

I achieved my goal yesterday to cross the 50K threshold, and I did. This morning I validated my word count and printed up the Winner's Certificate in the picture above. I only have a black laser printer, not color. The light gray is actually gold. Now, I'm going to continue to my personal goal of 80K by the end of the month.
Yesterday, when I was with my son, I told him the idea behind this book, and he shot it down. But he also gave me an alternative thought. Nothing major to the book, but one little minor change is all that's needed. Even though this one is science fiction, it even has to make sense to the science world.
So now, with notifications finished, I'm going back to New Horizons. I just hope I'll be able to do a daily update still to the end of the month. In the past, once you were declared a winner, you couldn't update any longer. So I'll just need to give a running total to 80K or the end of the month, whichever comes first.

Glad you beat your goal that is great. I hope you can get up to 80k now good luck. My day was good I worked and then came home and relaxed all night watching movies and mylotting.

How close to complete are you?
Ah you're right.... seems somewhere I read that back in the day of authors like Wells, Bradbury, Asimov -- that Science Fiction had to be something that could happen - that it wasn't already proven impossible....

I'm on track. So I should make it. I'm going to write more tomorrow, to make up for any lost time on Thanksgiving. I was behind on goals yesterday, and was able to catch up without a problem today. So I should be able to do the same tomorrow. At least I hope so.

Thank you. It is a lot of words, but I'm not a short story writer, so 50K or even 80K is still a long way from a finished novel for me which is typically around 150K or more.
