Yes us in USA will be eating all day it seems. Celebrating our Thanksgiving. So many lovely memories of this day over 70 yrs of my existence. Yet every now and then we have a rough one. Today is a rough one. only 3 people live here now and I thought it was agreed that not a lot would be bought or made. Especially since my daughter said they will go over to her bf's mothers to eat and she would make me go. But I got up to constant rain out and I and both others are sick in this house already. To top it off, daughter went and bought a bunch of food that she is fixing tomorrow some time in between work all night?? and she is still planning to go over to that other dinner. I sometimes think this one has lost her mind and shows the wastefulness of USA people to my embarrassment. no way are we going to eat all that even if it gets made before spoiling. Well the good thing is, she made a wonderful breakfast that I show in my photo here. It is/was scrambled eggs, biscuits , sausage gravy, and potatoes. yummy. Happy Thanksgiving to you all that celebrate . How is yours going?

Anything I can’t right away I usually freeze to eat another time. I hate wastefulness. Happy thanksgiving!

@bunnybon7 Yes ours was in October. I only ever had biscuits and gravy when I was visiting a friend in Florida. It was so good. It is not a thing around here.

well that's not fair. they should allow visits on holidays especially so they can bring treats. sounds too much like prison there and I thought it would be nice

It is smelling very good. Hope the food there doesn't go bad. Maybe if it is all cooked some can be frozen for later. That is what we are doing here. Got a big turkey and will freeze some for later.

@bunnybon7 my mom and I had a good one.. but wasn't great. Uncle was stupid and late. Brither wasn't home.. missed my daughter alot. Most days do for most people , just not most for me.. the last 10months.

it is just that here it is very shameful since Americans have acquired that label anyway.

Instead of me cooking for my kids and gf, and my ex-wife cooking for the kids and her husband, we teamed up and did Thanksgiving together so as not to waste food and effort. Plus, it was nice to have everyone together in one place, instead of the kids having to bounce back and forth between two households. Luckily, my ex-wife and I are best friends, and I get along well with her husband. They also adore my gf, so it worked out well all around. Plus, we made just the perfect amount of food, as there were very little leftovers afterward. I hope you feel better, and I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving despite not feeling well.

yes many folks do have other things then turkey so that's good. I just find that a whole turkey don't usually get eaten with just 3 people if not some frozen. which not sure if that will get done in time

@bunnybon7 When we roasted a turkey hubby spent a long time bagging the left over turkey to put in the freezer and he'd make a big turkey rice soup, too.

We celebrated by going to my mother-in-law's house and spending time with all my husband's family. It was a great time. We had a whole bunch of good food. We will be eating left overs; that's for sure. It doesn't waste with our family.
