A-Z Challenge, Here is Mine! Hope it Doesn't Bore You to Tears!

A: Ann, my middle name. I have also given this middle name to my 2 daughters. Little Miss also has the same middle name. B: Butterflies have always been a thing of beauty to me. I love to watch them in their graceful and peaceful flight. And yes, I do stop for butterflies to let the pass. C: Cougar. A term I don't like, but have been told it is what I am. Not because of my wild nature, but because my husband is 19 1/2 years younger than I. We don't see the difference in our age. Why do others feel the need to point it out? D: Donuts are something that I once made every weekend for breakfast when my children were young. My recipe was found in an old Betty Crocker cookbook. My youngest son uses the same recipe, but tweaked it by using butter instead of shortening. He makes at least 8-10 dozen donuts whenever there is an event at the skating rink where he runs the concession stand. E: Elusive Butterfly of Love is one of my favorite songs. Bob Lind sings this beautiful song. It warms my heart and spirits every time I hear it. I have posted a link to this beautiful song. I hope you listen to it and enjoy it as much as I do. F: Fudge, a word that is often used when you don't want to say a bad word. However, it is something that I often make only during Christmas time. I have been told that I make really good fudge. I don't use boxed mixes or marshmallow and chocolate chips. I make it the old fashioned way. G: Grateful, a word often misspelled by using greatful. I am grateful for many reasons. I am most grateful to be able to wake everyday and take a breath. Ginger is also my hair color thanks to John Frieda. I would like it to be the light blonde I had in my youth, but I guess that isn't going to happen unless I pay a pretty penny to stylist. H: Hunting. My husband enjoys hunting. He wanted me to get my hunting license. I went so far as to take an online course, which I passed with flying colors. Unfortunately I don't find the need to trudge through the woods and freeze my rear end off. I also am not certain I can look down the barrel of a gun and shoot a living being. I: Imagination is something that I have had to kick in high gear since having our granddaughter come to live with us. We are sharing a dish she just made just made and it is quite delicious. J: Joke, as in I can take a joke. My favorite jokes are Blonde jokes. Yes, I am a blonde and find them to be hilarious. The only ones I find not to my liking are the vulgar jokes. Keep them to yourself. If you try to force me to listen to them you'll get a taste of my anger. K: Showing kindness to others is very important to me. Even if the person is downright vile, I try to show them a little kindness. L: Love is something we all need. First of all,we must love ourselves. Something that we often neglect to do. I am learning to love myself again. M: Monarch butterflies have always been my favorite butterfly. Years ago they were in abundance, now it seems they are dwindling in population. N: New England is where I reside. Have ventured outside of it a couple of times. Lived down south in North Carolina for 3 months. Was very homesick. Came back and never left. O: Was once called Oma by my grandchildren. When I divorced the controlling, abusive, perverted, idiot I was married to, I told them to call me Grammy. It took a while for them to do this. But I needed to get rid of all memories that involved that part of my life. P: Purple is my favorite color. All shades of it bring me joy, but dark purple is my favorite. You'd think that my closet would be full of the color, but I only have a few garments of that color. It is also the favorite color of Little Miss! Q: Quick! If you want something done quick, don't ask me. I am a procrastinator! R: Roses have always been one of my favorite flowers. Don't buy me them if they don't have a heavy scent though. Any color will do though. I don't have a personal preference when it comes to color. Variety is the spice of life. S: S is the first letter of my first name. Was also the first letter of my maiden name, and the first letter of my last name when I was married to my first husband, who is the father of my 4 children. I prefer to use Elusive here. Some know me by my given name. Only those I feel close to though. T: Time goes by so fast. We often wish for it to do so. I remember wishing I was 16, then 18, then it sped by so fast. At 60, I wish I could go back in time, so I could fix what went wrong. But, really, can it be done? U: Useless is how I feel at times. Depression knocks at my door way too often. I try to not let the SOB in, but he finds a way. No meds for this gal though. Have tried them, but the side effects aren't worth the cure. Just need to surround myself with those that make me smile. Thanks to the support of my friends and family, I muddle through. V: Vines are something I once used to make wreaths with. I am a crafty person and enjoy making things out of what mother nature provides. Maybe when I retire I will get back into doing what brought me so much joy. W: Wonder, this is something we need to do like a child. Looking through the world with the joyous wonder of a child can fill our heart with love and joy. I try to do this in my own life. It just snowed a few minutes ago. Little Miss was overjoyed with seeing this. I found the wonder through her eyes. X: Believe it or not, I loved playing the xylophone when I was younger. If I had learned to play it I would probably own one and play it often. Love the sounds of the mallets on the wood or metal keys. Z: ZZZZZZZZ's are elusive to many. Lately I have been able to get my ZZZZZZ's and am happy for that. I go to sleep early when Little Miss goes down for the night. Yes, I am up early, but that is okay too. At least I can get about 8 hours sleep.
Elusive Butterfly" is a popular song by Bob Lind released in 1966, which reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was also recorded and released in 1966...

@Happy2BeMe I had a few that were a challenge, and I had to go back to them after finishing a few other letters.

Ann is a pretty middle name. I love that song too. Mmm. Fudge. For a period of time my mom would come home from work and make a batch of fudge. Every night. She was perfecting her recipe. And, it sure was. I enjoy a good joke. Showing kindness is very important in this life. Time does go by quickly. I am a royal procrastinator. Enjoyed your post. Not boring at all.

Nicely done and pleased to meet you all over again! My Mom used to be the doughnut maker in my family. She also got the recipe from Ms. Betty Crocker.

@sallypup I always used a deep pan to fry my donuts in. I was gifted a fryer, but preferred that for french fries.

@ElusiveButterfly I remember heating up almost an entire can of shortening and getting the hot fat super hot but not too hot for the doughnuts. I've never had a fryer so its always a guess and go situation.

I didn't remember the name of the music but I certainly did know it, took we back many years. I liked your A to Z, glad you have a young man for a husband and good for you for divorcing the old creep. Hadn't herd the word cougar used in that context for a long time either... I enjoyed reading your post, I am not going to write one myself, I don't have the patience.

Thanks lady! I am doubtful I will rest tonight. Decided to stay up with the hubby for a while. Nice to be able to sit and actually talk with him. He usually is sound asleep in the recliner by 8 every night. LOL.
