It is December, and many would be setting the mood for Christmas; the time for sharing and laughter and fun with the family.
It is the month when there are so many gracious givers; those who want others be happy too as they say thanks for all the blessings they received the whole year. This is such a happy scenario.
But there are so many scammers too! When walking, you can meet a person saying his family is in dire need of money for food or for hospitalization; they even ride jeepneys or buses to ask people for help; summoning them even people know they were lying!
People also report of day robberies or hold-ups! I wish the police and other law enforcers be on the alert for such criminals!
It takes a lot of being careful and being alert to get away from such criminals! Keep safe everyone!

I don't go to places at night, unless if I am with the boyfriend.

when we eat in the mall, the boys who sing songs softly that you cannot even understand the lyrics, come and destroy your appetite; also an old man who plays the 'silindro' but he smokes when he is outside the mall.

It is wise to be selective and try to know if they are genuine or not.

This is why I don't get out much. There are people now a days with music instruments that's been roaming around the place singing and asking for palms. I understand that there's poverty all over but people abuse when you start to give, simple as that.

@acelawrites Well, right now I'm not sure which one actually deserves help.

There are genuine ones; not scammers, and they deserved to be given some help. I hope Ellen will grant her request.

So true.
I usually limit my giving to people that I actually know. I also donate to nearby churches and organizations supporting the poor.

It has been my experience that scammers and thieves are present all the time and so we need to exercise caution at all times.

I usually donate what I can to institutions I know, but not to beggars of any kind.

Yes, it is wise to know whom you will give some help or gifts; those who really deserve it.
