Quitting More Foods

After I made a big step toward reducing the intake of coke, I am considering to throw out two more items from my diet. That is because I read how bad they are for health and because I became disgusted by the sight of those foods. That is namely mayonnaise and ketchup. I used to eat them with my fries. I am planning to replace them with a healthy sauce called “ajvar”. While I am not addicted to either of those foods it might take a while to start enjoying fries with the new sauce. What is your favourite condiment to serve with fries?

I only dust my fries with salt, no ketchup at all and when I want to serve something with mayonnaise I make it myself at home. Ajvar is good, I would not have it with fries, but served with grilled meats is very good.

@Madshadi _ I would think @LadyDuck 's would be better since she wont' scrimp on ingredients for the recipe.

Ketchup can't be that bad for your health - it is made with tomatoes.

I read somewhere that ketchup is made from worse quality tomatoes that are not good for consumption.

I dip my fries in melted cheese or mustard as I don't like ketchup. I rarely use mayonaise unless it is an ingredient in something I am making which isn't often. Have you tried the ajvar sauce yet?

I stopped eating meat when I was 7 and rarely eat veggie pattys but when I do I add cheese and mayo if I have it.

Yes it was my favourite hamburger sauce when I was a kid. I also like it with meatballs. But this is the first time that I eat it with fries.

I like mixing ketchup and mayonnaise. The best condiment for fries.

@Madshadi I think it is fine for younger ones. But I don't consume much fast food. I still prefer to eat slow food.

A touch is good. As long as it is not too much salt.

Hard to describe the taste. I can't think of anything that tastes like ajvar.

I love mayonnaise so i cannot give that up. I usually like flavored fries, with powdered cheese or sour cream

i looked up ajvar. wikipedia says it's made of "red bell peppers, garlic, eggplant and chili peppers." sounds like a healthy substitute (although i can't eat hot and spicy food). will you be making it yourself or can you buy it in bottles?

I buy it in bottles ready to eat. And it’s really not that hot.
