How many of you listen when someone is talking to you?

If the person goes on and on about something and I lost interest I tune them out and pretend that I am listening. There are those that really have something to say of interest and those that just go on and on and never end.
Have you met people that go on and on and you pretend that you are listening to them and you really aren't?

I always pay attention when someone is talking. But, If I have lost an interest to what he/she taking about that doesn't make any sense. I'll make an excuses to end up the conversation and not to pretend that i'm still listening.

Like @RasmaSandra - I would say, it would depend on what the person is saying.

I was about to say that it depends on what they are saying.

If the other is saying something boring on and on...I just try to divert him and drag him into a new topic.

If you don't listen you can get caught out when they suddenly ask you a question.
