No Rain But Snow, Snow Yes....

Sometimes it does not rain enough here and sometimes it does not snow enough as there are lots of People who make a living from working in the Ski Resorts around Navarra itself and going into France also.
Having had to go to Pamplona every day this is one of the photos I managed to take on the way.
Scenery was quite spectacular in itself.
No rain but enough snow that when it melts will fill the dams up a bit again.

Pretty bad situation here with water all over the place so the snow is very welcome even if they are on the beach on the Southern Coast in some parts.
Water bills here are huge sometimes whether it rains or not.

It does there is a lot of snow up high on the mountains and lots of work for the Ski Stations this time also thank goodness for that.
Also means more water in the long run for the nearly dried up dams.

I reckon so tops some quite heavy falls around Roncesvalles and round abouts.
I don´t ski but its fun to slide down a snowy slope anyways.

Just gaming about in the snow is good fun for most people.
Just kidding though if y ou have any injury its not much fun ater all but you can throw snowballs.

@lovinangelsinstead21 No, I went to a ski class during Easter holidays in La Mongie (it is at the feet of the Tourmalet) when I was 13 or 14, it is all the ski that I have done in my life. I love mountains during summer, but they are not for me during winter. And I am a bit old now for snowballs and sledges

It can hit below zero where I am exactly not only because its in the North of Spain but truly cold even if it does not snow.

Many ski areas in the United States also depend heavily on snow for tourism and a healthy economy. That goes for all the employees they hire during winter season. Your photo is like a picture postcard!

I am very careful of that kind of weather yes and the pavements are treacherous as there are no grass verges you can count on so you can get around at least a bit better.

Right here its been raining but there has been a lot of snow yes.
That means more prosperity for totally fed up Farmers and others that rely on the snow and the rain to help them out.
I mean Farmers need the rain and the others need the snow for the Ski Stations.

A lot of people around Navarra work in the Ski Stations and the Rural houses and tourism and all that kind of thing.
Not only for skiing but for other snow sports like snow boarding for example.

Its their way of life always has been for a good many years.
They depend on it for a living not that most of them make very much money but there it is they depend on the reliability of that kind of weather and people spend a lot of money on those kind of sports round here.
I don´t by the way as its way too expensive for me.

What a beautiful picture! You are so lucky to live near mountains. Where I live, the land is very flat, and barely above sea level. I guess I shouldn't complain, because I do live somewhat close to the beach. You have mountains, I have the beach! lol

Quite a long way out of the City very much afraid as the rents are getting way too high to be able to go back and live at the moment.
Those mountains are on the way to Pamplona yes coming from la Ribera part of Navarra which is sort of South West from where we are.

Its Pamplona Navarra where the San Fermines take place but only its December now so lucky for us no bulls or anything like that all peaceful and not much trouble on the roads really.
Looks much like a Christmas Card thing really.

It is a lovely drive in but we were going every day for not such a happy reason and may have to be visiting again for not such a happy reason.
Nevertheless the ride is beautiful after all this time it never fails to make me happy.

I love the mountains in the background. So very beautiful. Amazing pic. I supposed a ski resort would want to have snow. What happen if there is no snow? Has that ever happened?

Yes there have veen winters with hardly any snow and the Ski Resorts have suffered as a result.
But they got over it and found other ways till the snow came back again in full force.

I did see a bit of news about Canada and floods yes it was quite bad I saw at that time.
Lots of snow in Canada is a must for all the people who make a living from the Ski stations and tourism kind of thing.

Its very pretty to look but only on the mountains I can assure you that the pavements were very dicey to walk on not your typical kind of slabs to walk on they are not good quality at all.

Thank you I love this photo in particular and the camera does not do it its full justice really.
It has been like that here too and we were going down some very slippery outside stairs that were very steep and long treacherous to say the least
