Marvelous morning mystery

Hubby and I came home a little late last night, after dealing with my car's battery. It was after 6.
Neither one of us went outside after that.
This morning hubby went to work. I left about forty-five minutes later.
In front of my house was a partially disassembled computer desk. I KNOW it was not there last night, when we got home.
After I got to work, I called hubby and asked him who he had bought it from. I knew someone had to have delivered, as he is on lifting restrictions. Hubby said "I thought you brought it home!"
We did notice a couple of trucks in front of our house around 8, stopping and talking to one another, or so it seemed. One of them must have brought the desk.
When the bus arrived this morning, Jimmy, the guy who rides when I do not, came into the school. He asked "hey, did you have a computer desk on your front lawn this morning?" I asked him how he knew.
It seems he bought it second hand and the people delivered it. They just thought my house was still apartments and that Jimmy lives here.
By the time I was home tonight, the desk had been picked up and taken away.

@GardenGerty It's annoying when we need to take care of objects placed in our yards. I am tired, due to all those travels to Italy, but I am not bad.
