In summary, it steals 'an element of live-action interaction.' Before television (I imagine, having been born well-after television's conquest of 'the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_World_problem First world'), people went out to see others---in stage plays, concerts, big-screen movies. Before mobile-orders, people interacted with workers at the various restaurants & entertainment venues (movie-theaters, other events). You know what we're really losing? The bartering-system---it's been being slowly dragged away ever since we started hiding things' value in 'promissory notes' (the original 'dollar bills,' which were originally "notes from safe-keepers to the treasure-finders who could give the notes back to the keepers to get their treasure back"). Do you remember when you could 'pay' for a meal by "washing the dishes"? ... I don't, but I've seen it in movies

My mother told me, that if I didn't pay for a meal at a restaurant, I would either get arrested or have to pay for my meal by doing dishes. I think that it is best to pay for your meals, not eat and run. Bad idea. These days if you try doing a stunt like this, you will get arrested and hung up to dry. They will probably record you on camera anyway and even worse, shame you on social media like Facebook or YouTube.
