One of the top film makers of the Hindi film industry , Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made some excellent and visually beautiful films. Things became complicated when he decided to make films based on history. He tends to deviate from what is depicted as history and as long as it does not concern other religious communities things are normally accepted even if there are some minor changes or what he terms as artistic freedom. But when it concerns different religious communities , especially the Mughal kings , people become extra sensitive . This happened earlier but the film was allowed to be screened. However, this time with his new film Padmavathy , the subject of which deals with a very beautiful Rajasthani queen Padmavathy , and a Mughal king Allauddin Khilji who lusted after her and fought a battle against the king. But Queen Padmavathy on reaising the certain defeat of her husband, preferred to commit Johar or mass suicide by the royal women by jumping into fire , rather than surrender to the Mughal king. The film , I am sure is visually very appealing but has now got into trouble because of the many controversies surrounding it. After watching the very popular song that is part of the trailer , I am eager to watch the film. The Ghoomar song is a traditional Rajasthani dance performd in the roya court, how do you like it ?
