If you were studying to be a doctor, what kind of doctor would you be?

I was thinking of this, this morning. I would want to be a dermatologist because although there are some serious health conditions that can be associated with the skin, by and large it isn't too invasive and I am sure it is lucrative. I think the chances of being sued as a dermatologist, are fairly low compared to other medical specialties. What would you want to study if you were studying medicine?

Probably psychiatry & neurology. I would love to study the brain and different psychiatric disorders.

When I was younger I wanted to be a pediatric surgeon but now I realize I would never be good at that.

Maybe you could become an LPN and work in a pediatric medical practice. Maybe when your kids are older and you have a bit more time, it would work out.

@snowy22315 i imagine there's a lot of downtime. you only encounter the patient once. minimal touch. no monitoring. you don't get attached to them. no mess or smell.

I really think I would be in research. I would love to be working on a cure.

Oh yes, research would be good! My sister's, sister in law is a researcher..She studies fruit flies..but I think it has some kind of medical implication. I will have to ask my sister. I have forgotten.

I am a bit squeamish myself. I never had any real interest in the medical field. However if I had to pick a medical specialty it would be dermatology. Physical and speech therapy are interesting but you din.t have to be a doctor to work in those fields.

My aunt and cousin were ER nurses. I guess they have seen their fair share of trauma.

I would like to be a Doctor of Sociology. I love the study of group dynamics, and none of my patients (because I wouldn't have any) would get extremely sick.
