Scotland Yard tracks the worst serial killer in London since Jack the Ripper : a serial cat killer

A serial killer in London has already made 400 victims among cats and other pets, like foxes and rabbits in the past two years. Like Jack the Ripper he uses surgical instruments, and severs the head and tail of his victims. Investigated first by a small animal welfare association, and then by the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals, the case is now also investigated by Scotland Yard who fears that it is just a matter of time before he starts to do also human victims. A £10000 reward is offered for any information that could held to capture this psychopath serial killer. Horrible. Maybe I should better forbid to my cat to go outdoors during the night ?

This is horrible, I hope that they can frame this killer soon. Many serial killers started with animals.

It is the fear they have. A psychopath like him can kill humans soon.

@topffer I imagine that the police knows very well that this can happen. Those psychopaths are often more dangerous during the holidays.

Sadly yes, there are articles in UK media speaking of new victims quite every week (6 cats assassined last week). This one is giving a summary, but the server seems slow right now.

@YrNemo You read a more complete article than the one I have linked. I did not knew most of these details. I read that it started in Croydon, that's all. It seems logical to think that he started not far from his home/neighborhood, for the rest it is a so irrational behavior that it is difficult to deduce anything logical. The only good thing is that they start to have a description of this man that can lead to his arrest.

@topffer I read it now, from a different source. Seems like they know vaguely the culprit's physical description, 40s, average built, etc (I forgot the rest). Guess it is a matter of time now. The guy seemed to lure his victims by using raw chicken meats. He seems to target animals from certain areas, mainly newly developed areas etc. Let hope they will get him soon. (From what I read, he at first killed those animals and left them right in the vicinity of the owners, where they could see the pets. THAT suggests somehow that he might have known those people well enough and had a grudge or something similar against them? How do you think?)

Yikes. I suppose these smaller creatures allow him to "practice" before he gets to humans . I sure hope they find this sick person. And yes, people really should keep an eye on their cats/pets if they are roaming freely outside !

@topffer Sadly that is very possible . . . that's one thing I'm afraid of when stuff like that hits the news. I hope they get him quickly too . . . I imagine it's easier for this person during warmer weather.

@much2say To kill a cat I do not know, but I learned that there were a lot less rapes outdoors when it was freezing.

I am afraid that he gives some ideas to other sickos elsewhere, and I am thinking at blocking the cat flap on the garden door during the night. I hope they will catch him quickly.

What prompts the perpetrator to do such a thing? Hope the wicked guy will soon be arrested!

I do not think that somebody of sound mind would do that. He is a psychopath, and it is why the police fears now that he may kill humans soon. I also hope that he will be quickly arrested.

@topffer At least, that is a sort of abnormal behaviour. It is a worrying thing that the guy is still at large.

He has not killed humans yet, but the police thinks that he will do it soon or later. This news made me sick. I hope that they will catch him quickly.

The concern about doing it to humans is very valid. This guy should be locked up

I hope that they will arrest him quickly for the security of cats and people. He has first started in a specific neighborhood, but now he is very mobile, and not easy to catch.

Hopefully they will find this person soon, although with 400 cats already victims, it seems they have not been able to for a considerable amount of time so far.

Only a small association investigated at first and realized that many cats were killed by the same serial killer. I hope that now that Scotland Yard is involved they will arrest him quickly.

What does not reassure me is that I think that this guy might inspire other sick people elsewhere. I forbade to my cat to go outdoors yesterday evening.
