This morning when I got up my daughter was in the kitchen nearly crying. She said, mom don't look at your bank account cause I have to warn you. not only is your money not in there but I feel I am to blame for it being over drawn. because your phone company, verizon, automaticly took out their payment. I told her stop stressing. It is my fault because I should have kept better track, plus, my phone company was not supposed to do that until the 21st. That was specified after the hurricane that the automated billing date was changed. so it is also their fault. After being on the phone half the morning with Verizon and my bank. it may be taken care of. I hope. In any case, I am trying to do what my late hubby used to tell me to calm me down. Nothing I can do about whats already done. Just do what I can to fix it for future. So good news is I been watching Gwen Stefani's Christmas special on NBC. some how my Roku allows me to watch what they have on there that is free to watch and Kudos for NBC for allowing some things. It is such a fun good show. really cheers you up. Try to put a link to this great song that I love from the past that also helps. lol lets hope it works. photo here is of my Coco when she was alive in AZ chewing on one of her treat gifts under the tree.

That's why I don't put anything on automatic debit.

I hope you are able to get everything sorted out with Verizon and your bank. I tend to not like automated payments solely for the reason you wrote about. Instead, I set up online bill pay with payment reminders on my bank's app, so when the reminder notice pops up, I know I have to go in and pay the bill

i know my son had online bill pay through the bank and i was going to get him to show me how that worked but never got around to it when i was living with him. i should probably figure it out . the phone is all i had on that automated . always worry i might forget and it is like my life line. i will probably change services after the holidays because this one Verizon, just seems to be taking advantage of me even after many years of raising my payments etc.

@bunnybon7 Online bill pay is pretty easy to set up. You can go to your bank's website, create a username and password so you can log in, and then go to their page for online bill pay. You just have to set up each account, which is usually pretty easy. Generally, you just have to provide the name of the company, their address, and your account number with that company. Then, you can set up reminders and such so that it takes all the guesswork out of paying bills.

Well I hope they get it figured out for you and credit your bank account back. But like you said it's already done and can move on and hope it doesn't happen again.

well they took care of it but the bother of having to call and try to explain it all and everything has decided me for another service when possible for me to change it

Oh Coco ! I sure hope all that will be sorted out soon. Good that you can be calm about it - yep, sometimes there's just nothing that can be done at that moment, so why sweat it. I didn't know Gwen Stefani had a Christmas special . . . how is/was it?

@bunnybon7 I tend to freak out internally . . . I may seem calm on the outside, but inside I am not. Remembering to stay calm is a good thing!!

@bunnybon7 It's sad when something you've had for a long time, changes their policy and you can't trust them any longer.

Been there done that when it comes to Bank accounts, and it can be quite Frustrating. Makes you wonder why sometimes things have to happen the way they do.

I really dislike how they move things around that is why I don't do direct billing, I have to go in and pay all of them. It can be a pain but.. Hope you got it figured out.

unfortunately i can't do that. i could pay online but i am too in fear of forgetting and reaching for the phone only to find it is off. it is all i have on auto pay so as it is i still have to remember a lot of things.

I personally love auto pay but it might be better to do an auto check where you don't get debited until the check clears, it gives you a little extra time. I hope it all works out, those overdraw charges are crazy these days.

Sorry to hear it happened to you. If the date was specifically agreed on then they really shouldn't have deducted it earlier than that. Maybe it was a glitch on their part. I hope the issue is resolved very soon.
