Time is Running Out!

The crunch has begun, and once again I am faced with the fact that I put it all off is causing me stress. Hate being a procrastinator, but I have been one for most of my life. I do have a good excuse now, having a little one running around. She wants my constant attention and I find it hard to do other things when she needs me. Couldn't use my kitchen or dining room for 4 evenings because the hubby was butchering the deer. Yes, it was necessary to have him do it, but it left me with no room to do my baking. This morning I got up at 5 and made a batch of brownie bites. I always bring goodies to my clients at this time of year. My original plan was to give them a loaf of pumpkin bread and some cookies. That didn't happen. Oh well. I hope they will be happy with the brownies. I am going to bake more easy praline cookie bars tonight. I have a few clients that really like them and of course family members who love them too. I'll make some breads tomorrow night. Then of course there is all the wrapping that needs to be done. I haven't many gifts to wrap. I decided to keep it small this year. Little Miss has a few toys that I know she will enjoy. I don't want to overdo it with the toys for her. I have purchased a few gifts for each of my children too. So, it shouldn't take long to wrap everything. I am going to insist that hubby join in on the fun. Once that is done, I can focus on other things, like maybe enjoying my time with my loved ones. We need to focus more on what is important. That is family and friends. My son's fiance lost her father this past Tuesday. My heart breaks for her. It makes you realise how short life is. Hug the ones you love, spend more time with them. Our time is the most precious gift we can give someone. Big hugs to you all.

I managed to somehow get it all done. Was one pie short of what I had planned though. No biggie!

@YrNemo I thought my husband would be very disappointed, but he was fine with one pie. Hasn't even had a slice of that one yet.

That is the truth, we never know how long we will have together.

Even the ones that we aren't close to for whatever reason will one day be gone. If we focus on the good in them, we will see them in a different light.

This is so true, you do not know for how long those you love will be part of this world. Once they are sick and near to the end, it's too late to told them how much you love them.

Yes, spending time with family is most important. I'm sorry your son's fiancee lost her father. My condolences to her and her family. I'm sure everyone will love whatever you bake.

Thank you Val. She is still very numb over the loss of her father. I am praying that her heart heals so she can move forward.

Although nothing seems to go as planned, we did manage to get it all done. I am still tired from lack of sleep though. Hoping to sleep a little more this weekend.

The time we have to spend with family and friends is never guaranteed so we have to treasure the time we do have together.

Certainly it's family and friends who are important, not gifts and possessions.

I know people that buy an enormous amount of gifts for their children. It only gives them the sense that material things are more important.
