TRENDS AND COLORS

What are some of the fashion trends - current and old that you would never follow? For me, there are three that immediately come to mind. (1) You would never see me wearing a tattoo. Yes, it might look good on some, but tattoos on my body will never be my cup of tea. (2) body piercings - like navel rings- I wince every time I see it. Earrings are enough for me. (3) I have never really liked wearing trousers or jeans - but if I had to - my choice would never be bell bottoms. About colors. I don't know what it is about yellow, but I never wear that color . I would choose it for kitchen curtains yes - but never clothes. Maybe in the new year I'll start adding yellow to my wardrobe - it is a happy color after all. Is there one specific color that you absolutely do not wear ?

Tattoos are not for me either and even my 29 year old daughter has not done any, though she did have a weird piercing on her face a few years ago. I have a black t-shirt or two but that clothing color does not appeal to me really.

Black is the main color in my wardrobe - but I do have a lot of lighter colors too. After all - I live in the Caribbean.

1, 2 and 3 exactly like you. About colors, I do not dislike yellow, only some shades of yellow. I would never wear read, it looks awful on me.

@Kandae11 I love earth tones, also for my make up. Red has never been a color I could wear.

I used to wear red quite a bit when I was in my teens and early twenties - now I prefer earth tones , cerise, white and black among others.

no problem with colours, though I dislike the thought of the pain of piercings or tattoos or waxing

They really want those piercings and tattoos - so I suppose the pain is a small price to pay.

I am not a fan of sky blue in clothing. It looks lovely on wallpaper but for some reason I don't like wearing light blue. I am overweight so I tend to stick to dark shades to make myself look slimmer!

I don't follow trends . . . I wear what I want. I am definitely not into tattoos or extra piercings. I like mild bell bottoms . I like spots of yellow in a design, but yah, I have no solid yellow in my wardrobe. Most colors I will wear, but I'm afraid of white . . . I guess because it gets dirty easily, could be see-thru, doesn't stay white after being washed so often, makes my teeth look less white .

@Kandae11 That is true, isn't it? And I know it's not easy to keep clothing absolutely white as it is . . . I can't get some of my kids' stains out of their clothes. Just how do they get their team clothing so white?

Yes white can be easily soiled. I have often wondered why white clothing was chosen for the game of cricket - especially when one game lasts between three and five days.

@much2say Seems like a lot of unnecessary trouble to me. However - at least in the shorter format of the game - the 50 and 20 overs - they have taken to wearing colored clothing.

I agree with you on the first 2 items but I usually wear pants. As for colors, I tend to just wear whatever won't make me look washed out which is what white and yellow does to me. What do you think of those gals that have 10 earrings on their ears?

I personally don't care for tattoos or body piercings. I prefer skinny leg jeans these days. As for colors, I wear them all if the cut, fabric, and color flatters rather than detracts.

No Tats. No Cartoon colored hair, it bad enough my hair turned white. No fur coats, that would just feel weird. None of those weird shoes people were wearing, I forget what they are called, thick plastic with holes in the tops. I do not wear yellow much either, or orange.

@HaylaAnn You mean it actually works - koolaid?
31 Dec 17
I use koolaid to dye my hair it's healthyer because it had no chemicaps added and all you do is choose they color you like boil 2-3 cups of water an depending how how bright you desire the color to be you use at lest 3 packet of the color an if you have dark brow to black you can lever you're hair in it for 20-30 minute or longer if you have blond heryou leave it in for 12-15 minutes but I only dye the ends of my hair so it doesn't look like I just went all out

It is nice to have a style in mind - and what you won't do as well. Skirts or dresses for you usually? I love pants - but I admit there is something so classy about skirts or dresses. I should wear mine more in the new year :-)

@Kandae11 This is what always comes to my mind. I see fresh tattoos on firm young skin and have to think, "Thank God, I won't live anymore when all these tattooed youngsters are old and will look horrible."

@MALUSE I honestly never thought of that. Maybe warning signs or pictures should be posted.
@Kandae11 (53679)

You know, I have never really considered that aspect? - probably because I have never seen it on wrinkled skin . That is the problem with some of today's younger folk - they live for the moment - no thought of the future. Of course if the tattoo is semi permanent I suppose it could be removed before wrinkles arrive.
